Super easy to use and looks great, non-toxic
This is a fantastic product. Non-toxic and easy on your hands. Food safe. Makes a very nice even surface on wood. I use this on my kitchen table once or twice a year and it glows. I'm able to put wet glasses on it without making permanent rings

The best wood oil I’ve ever used
This is, by far, the best oil I’ve ever used! It’s easy to apply, easy to wipe off, and it provides a brilliant finish. It even works on raw metal! The only downsides are that you must finish your piece well as it’ll show any imperfections, and it needs 3-5 days to fully cure.

Another great Odies product!
Odies Oil Dark adds depth and character to my woodworking projects like no other. The rich, deep tones enhance the natural beauty of the wood, creating a stunning visual impact. Super easy application and excellent coverage make it ideal for both professionals and hobbyists. The durable finish provides long-lasting protection, ensuring my pieces stand the test of time. Whether I'm aiming for a rustic look or a modern finish, Odies Oil Dark always exceeds my expectations. It's my go-to choice for adding elegance and sophistication to any project.

Dining room table
Four years ago I built a high top DR table out of English Walnut. I used Odies as the original finish. After moving and the table being in storage for about a year it needed a refresh. I did a quick sanding with 150 and reapplied Odies. The table looks brand new. It never gets permanent water marks on it as everything just wipes up.

OK but way overpriced
This works as advertised and I have not had a problem with any sticky residue as some have reported. I suspect they put it on too thick and/or did not buff it off properly. It does not develop much of a film at all, which may be what you want. It results in a minimal finish. My complaint is that this little jar is way overpriced for what it is. I doubt there is any secret sauce involved and suspect it is just a mixture of boiled linseed oil, and various waxes. Various youtube videos describe how to make your own hard wax oils, which is what I will be doing from now on.

Nice color
I was skeptical about this product. However, having used it, it is easy to apply and gives a nice color to the wood. It does not darken as much initially as I had hoped. However, I applied several coats to achieve the color I needed. Great product!

Outstanding Product
No chemicals. Don't even need to use polyurethane. Finish comes out very nicely. If you want some color get a mixing powder or oxidized tint ahead of time. I've been using this for a year now and every time I try something else, I end up just coming back to this profuct - Consistent every time - Pleasant smell (no chemicals) - Tough and great sheen - ready to use after 48 hours (even better after a week or two of drying) You really do only need a little of this product which lasts a long time.

excellent finish, hard to screw up
I've tried a lot of different finishes, and this one is fantastic. Used it on mahogany. Sand to 220 grit, rub in 3 coats of this (30-40 minutes between them), wait 3-4 hours, then buff it out. Once it dries overnight, the finish will be smooth as glass, and the wood shows beautiful figure and a soft satin sheen. Go to Odie's site and watch the how-to videos, and do it like they say. The key is in the buffing -- I used an old white cotton T-shirt, and buffed it in swirls and kept using a clean part of the cloth until no more finish came off on it. Don't know about long term durability yet, but I expect good results. If a problem happens down the line, it's super easy to fix -- a little sanding and reapply as before. It couldn't be more foolproof -- you will not regret trying it!

– Great finish, but not as dark as expected
I really like Odie's Dark Oil—it's easy to apply, smells great, and leaves the wood feeling smooth and well-protected. That said, despite the name, it doesn’t noticeably darken the wood, at least not right away. If you're expecting a rich, deep tone from the start, you might be a bit surprised. Still, it's a high-quality finish and one I’d definitely use again.
