Basement saver
I have never had a full septic backup but have had a few occasions where the filter would clog. An alarm sounds to give plenty of warning to get it cleaned out. However, i always thought about installing one of these to eliminate the rhreat of a septic backup into the house. Worth every penny to have that guarantee!

Works exactly as designed - when the main sewer line backs up keeps the sewage out of the house. Easy to open if needed to run a snake down the sewer line. It should work perfectly to keep the sewage from entering the house if a backup as it is installed lower than the raised floor drain lines in the o house. If my house was on a slab, not sure how to have this below the drain vents in the house. FYI - make sure no one puts something on top of it as it will not be able to open when needed.

Hopefully a home saver.
I wish I knew about this before the septic line fractured and clogged causing two of my toilets to overflow. Resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs. I purchased this upon recommendation of a plumber. Any future clogs (hopefully never again ) outside the home will result in this cap opening up and relieving line pressure. It was easy to install and does not have any complicated parts. I would recommend this product.

Sewer backups are more common that people know. This device will save your house.
Most don't realize this, but most home owners insurance policies don't cover sewer and water backups. They cover broken water pipes, but not something that occurs outside the home and impacts the inside like a sewer back up from city lines or septic tank. If they do cover it, it's a very small amount and sewer flowing through your home can cause thousands of dollars in damage and this happened to our home and neighbors recently. Simply relieving pressure through the sewer cleanouts out in your yard saved our home. This cap went on nicely, seems sturdy and functional. Well worth the cost to save your house.

Peace of mind
This product perfectly fits a standard 4 inch PVC (thread OD actually a little larger). The quality is obvious with thick PVC and a well designed lid/hinge. The lid opens easily in the event of a backup, but there is almost no gap (a good thing) to prevent debris from getting in and causing lid to stick. While we have not had to use it, I have absolutely no doubts that it will work.
