Really excellent…. But….
💥💥 This OV LED light is a game changer when going out at night to do things. It was night time and I just put a car battery in my truck before righting this review and with this on my forehead light followed me wherever I went. Under the hood was all lit up nicely. Crazy me went out at 11 P.M. one night to spray spotted Lanternflies here in NJ and it was so easy looking all through the branches in a tree on a step ladder with the LED light strip on my head and a spray bottle in the other. Never a need to have to hold a flashlight in one hand while doing tasks of any type. With this on its light wherever you look. If has a 2 level switch - high, low and off. No crazy multiple pushes or a hold of the button to get it to work. I don’t need blinking SOS or red so it’s a simple 1, 2 or 3 press to go through the modes, bright, low, off. There are two rows of 10 LED lights making 20 in total that go wide enough to cover your field of view from the left to right sides. No dark areas. This is very bright and I prefer the light color and brightness of this OV LED over the Lightbar that I bought for my daughter. That LED strip is much stiffer and harder so it’s more uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time. I’ve come inside my house after having this on and forgot to take it off until someone mentioned that I had it on. I’m actually wearing it as I’m typing my review. HAA. This one is more flexible and softer making it much more comfortable to wear. It bends like a soft leather belt and pay no attention to the reviewer that mentioned it being hot. If it’s 93 degrees in August anything will be warm on your head. I’m so glad that it takes AAA batteries vs being rechargeable. With a rechargeable you are beat if it’s dead and have to wait for an hour or more to use it. I have plenty of Amazon brand batteries in AAA, AA and C and a charger so I’m partly “green”. —-The only downsides —- I wish the battery life was a little better but that’s probably the trade off for brightness. For that reason I keep it on the low setting often which many times is sufficient. Also, since it is on your forehead above your eyebrows , where it sits is angled up being that your head is round and that is where the light is basically aimed. It would be nice if it was designed to aim down slightly to compensate for that because when you aim your head down slightly things in front of you get noticeably brighter. All brands are this way so it’s not a specific design flaw only for this brand. OV LED, make it tapered down a little please. The added bonus is that I prefer this brand overall to the Lightbar and it is half the price. Softer, more flexible, nicer light temperature (warmer kelvin) less money, simpler light mode switch … It’s a no brainer. But it now with no regrets. When I find something that I like this much I hope that it sells well enough to remain available if I ever want to buy it again which I definitely would do without hesitation.. 🤟🏼 to remain available if I ever want to buy it again which I definitely would do without hesitation.. 🤟🏼

Works Well
I've owned a few of these 'headlights' over the years but always found them bulky, short on battery life, and difficult to manage to light the parts I need lit. This unit solves all of those problems. The LED band is thin and lightweight, and the elastic band holds the unit firmly to your head without cutting into your skull or giving you a headache. The wide band of light is distributed by the lights to the area in front of you, and the areas to the sides as well, because, lets face it, not everything we want to see is directly in front of us. Downsides? Not so much for the wearer, but those around you will squint and cover their eyes, and say "will you please stop LOOKING at me while you're wearing that!" So yeah, the lights are bright, and right at everyone's eye level. This has been compounded in my own experience since after wearing this for a few minutes I forget I have it on. When I walk up to someone it gets very blinding, even on the dim setting. But that also shows how comfortable the unit is and how naturally it lights the area around you. I can't say how long the batteries last but it's a long time. I've used it a lot and I'm still on the first set of batteries. If you buy this you won't be disappointed, but for Pete's sake DON'T LOOK AT PEOPLE WITH IT!

Those who say its not 300 lumens don't know what they're talking about
I saw so many reviews of this product complaining that it's not bright enough. I feel like those people have never used a bar type LED light before and don't understand the lumen system. The first thing you'll notice about this headlamp when you put it on is that it's so incredibly lightweight! It's very well balanced and I wasn't expecting this from this product, you can barely feel it on your head. This is great because other headlamps I've used tend to be very front heavy and droop. This is especially noticeable when I turn my head, which has never happened while using this product. Secondly, let's discuss this "Not 300 lumen claim". Lumens are measured per SQUARE METER of light. This is very important to bar lights such as the Harbor Freight 390 lumen bar light (which this headlamp outputs very similar light to) and this style of headlamp. Because these bar lights don't output a "spotlight" pattern but rather a broad pattern of light with no particular focus, a 300 lumen spotlight style of flashlight will be brighter (in the spotlight area) than a 300 lumen bar light. Furthermore, a spotlight style of flashlight will also project much father than bar style lights will. That being said, this headlamp is absolutely 300 lumens. It's plenty bright to light up a 15'x15' room in total darkness. Like I said earlier, if you have the Harbor Freight 390 lumen bar light (which I also recommend as a very good bar light) its just a little bit brighter than this headlamp. It's very nice having a wide spread light with no particular focus since a lot of the work I do with it is in confined spaces where I can't always have my eye on the same spot the spotlight style of headlamps light up. We will see how long this headlamp lasts as far as build quality goes but first impressions are strong (especially considering the price). The headband material is comfortable and the stitching appears heavy duty. If I have problems with this light I will update this review, but if there is no update, it's working perfectly and holding up great. TL:DR - If you need a light that lights up a wide area but doesn't project as far as normal headlamps, this is a great purchase.

Broad beam, Not a Spotlight
Realize what you are getting. This is a unique headlamp, and shouldn't be compared to a regular headlamp with a more focused beam. If you use headlamps often like I do, you'll realize this headlight definitely has a niche to fill, and shouldn't be compared, directly at least, to traditional headlights. I use this headlamp for: 1. House projects, both inside and outside. 2. Walking in the dark: PERFECT for this. 3. Ice fishing. I use a traditional headlamp for: 1. Reading at night in bed (red light specifically, which this doesn't have), 2. Around the cabin (where there is no electricity) in the dark and I can control the beam. 3. Nordic Skiing at night (you need a beam to project ahead of you a ways, like 40-50 feet, since you are moving relatively quickly) 4. Fishing, especially in a boat where others are present so I can control the beam and turn it on and off easily. STRENGTHS: -Very broad beam. I walked into my unlit garage with this on and it felt like there was already a light on in there. -Spectrum is more "natural" and doesn't require you to turn your head to light up a different area. Your peripheral vision is still engaged with this on, which it isn't with "traditional" headlamp -Batteries in the rear. The balance on your head seems better than traditional headlamp (ones with batteries in the front) -2 power levels. Nice to have an option to turn down the brightness and save on battery life. WEAKNESSES: (Not Cons so much as limitations to be aware of) -ON/OFF switch. It's hard to use, as others have pointed out. It isn't impossible by any means, but if you want to turn this light on and off quickly you'll be frustrated by this. -Broad spectrum. Yes, this is also a huge positive, but if you want to use this light around other people you will constantly be shining the light in their eyes as you can't tilt the light down at all. -Light does not project out further than maybe 15 feet. Fine for inside, but outside only bright when relatively close in.

Good for broad coverage; but cannot aim it down
From other reviews, and the photo, I expected it would give short range and broad coverage, and it proves very good for working under the sink. Small places where you just can't turn your head or body far enough to aim a spotlight. This will be good in my tool kit. It lights up the whole space under the sink beautifully. When you get into a place as big as a closet, or a dark hallway, you discover that it is aimed at the ceiling, and there is no way to aim it down where you are working. Not as good for close work in your lap or on the workbench. I found this light also works pretty good in the basement with a white ceiling. The reflected light is bright enough to light up a wide area. A warning - it blasts your friends' eyes in every direction, too bright too look at it, so it is only good if you are working solo. Not good for working near a friend or spouse. Bad in a mirror. I didn't have any problem with tucking the battery pack into its sleeve, or with finding and operating the power switch by feel. It appears well made, I think durability will be OK, especially for the price. It looks better made than some of first headlamps I bought years ago for more money. I might update after I find out how long the batteries last, while it is throwing out this huge amount of light. UPDATE 4/15/20 Increased rating to 5 stars after using it more, taking it outdoors, and under the car. It lights up an entire dark 15x25 ft living room, with remarkably even light. Walking outdoors at night, it lights up my entire field of view nicely out to about 20 feet, and dimly farther than that. Crawling under the car, it lights up the whole bottom of the car without having to twist my neck or aim anything, much handier than a flashlight. Under the hood, it lights up the whole engine compartment without having to aim it. Standing at the workbench in dark garage is OK even though not aimed down. Holding a book in my lap it gives good light for reading, kinder than a narrow beam. Battery life test found that, on High with black eneloop batteries, it was noticeably dimmer after 1 hour and a lot dimmer before 2 hours. I'll update if further tests, or a test on low power, are much different. I ordered more batteries and I always travel with a charger.

They are alright but could be much better with a few simple changes.
First thing to say, I do like the idea of these. The wide LED strip is useful. It provides a wide field of light. But I have a few complaints that will keep these from being my go to headlamps. The first problem is the on/off switch is a flat clicker. It makes the switch difficult to find and operate while wearing these, especially if wearing gloves. On the plus side, it only has a high and low setting. It does not have the useless strobe setting so many of these headlamps have. But these would be so much better if they had simple three position micro-switch or any sort of more tactile on/off button. The next two problems could both be addressed with a simple modification. These get a little warm on the forehead because it is basically just an LED strip with only a thin elastic backing. And these shine at slightly too high an angle unless worn right above the eyes. If these had a small backing strip that added some insulation while angling these down just a little, these could be a much, much better product. Overall, I'm not terribly disappointed for the money. But it is a shame they are missing a few simple changes that would have made them so much better. Next time, I will probably spend the few extra bucks for a pair that does not have these drawbacks.

More useful than I realized
This thing comes in handy all the time. I didn't realize how useful it was until I started doing normal daily tasks that I found easier when I had this on. One example I have a picture of was when my girlfriend was cleaning the cabinet under our kitchen sink the task was made a lot less frustrating after she put this on. I've also used it for finding things in storage or under the bed, taking out the trash at night, and in my AC closet. It's just a really nice thing to have around the house. I love the "BroadBeam". It is powerful enough to light up the whole room in front of you where as headlamps are just in one direction and sometimes cast shadows that make it hard to see. It is actually more comfortable than it looks and stays on your head well. My only small gripes about it are 1. It isn't really clear to tell which way is "up" when you put it on, but it does not matter much because it works both ways; and 2. The power button setup is little awkward to use because it is on the external wire that just kind of sticks out. Overall though you just cannot beat the functionality you get out of it for the price. I would highly recommend this to anyone; I have no doubt you will find a use for it.

you almost forget it's turned on, the light being "everywhere" is really impressive
This thing is not comfortable and it eats batteries quickly (using rechargeable so it's not too bad) and it doesn't light up the world like the photos show... but.... damn is it handy. Having the light just go 'everywhere' at the same time makes it very easy to work in awkward spots (wiring closets, under the car, in the attic, etc). You don't even notice the light is really 'on', there is no hot spot in the middle like a normal head lamp, you can just see everything around you. Often I think "oh, I don't really need the light it's not doing anything" and then turn it off and suddenly it's all dark. Its doing more than I think and just being able to look around naturally without moving your head to move the light lulls you into thinking it's not doing much. I wouldn't want this for my only headlamp, but for doing project work in dark spaces it's pretty amazing and is my go-to headlamp. Just keep a 2nd set of batteries on the charger.... you'll need them. As my friend says "physics sucks" and there is no getting around having 20 LEDs lit up all the time. Get one, you'll like it.

Comfortable, wide light distribution. Perfect for hiking.
Not as bright as some, but excellent for the price. I bought it for hiking and the wrap-around design creates a "flood light" affect and works perfect. The battery is at the back of my head where the weight is less noticeable, and the band is comfortable. I would definitely buy again.

Bright
Better than the other types of head lamps brighter and covers a wider angle with the lights. Also comfortable and you can get in tight spaces without bumping the front light off
