Light is Consistent and Beautiful
We have seven of these lamps over a granite-top kitchen island. The spread, brightness, and color temperature are remarkably identical across all seven. They dim very nicely with no flickering, using a halogen fixture with transformer. I measured them with a color temperature meter and I have never seen LED lighting so consistent. They all came within 5 degrees of a perfect 2700K. It is true that the light hot-spots somewhat towards the center (which in our application looks extremely attractive). If you can tolerate some falloff away from center, the useful angle looks like about 45 degrees. Make sure that your lamp is not recessed in a baffle which is flagging or cutting the light off

Not worth the price.
I have purchased over a dozen MR-16 bulbs by all the brands at all the price points. I'm in search of a basic 12V 35W-50W halogen replacement that has good color rendition and is moderately dimmable. These Philips bulbs don't cut it. Lighting rendition is okay. Brightness is decent. But they can't handle real dimming and they have a moderate flicker to them under movement.

Best Mass Produced Product Currently on the Market
I have been buying LED MR16s since 2006 for various household fixtures. I have tried all kinds and have found them to be always improving as far as quality, brightness, and color. This is a very close replacement to the conventional Halogen 50 watt that I currently have lighting the exterior of my home. The actual color and brightness (lumens) are the closest match I have seen to date. Philips' bulbs are light years ahead in quality compared to the cheap MR16s sold on Ebay. You get what you pay for...

Bright but noisy
I bought six of these bulbs to light my closet. They are bright and give off very little heat. When we first turned them on, my wife thought the electrician accidentally connected the attic fan to the circuit since we heard a high pitched hum similar to a computer fan. We realized it is the bulbs.

Excellent light color
Bought 3 of these bulbs to install them in a recessed fixture, aiming a large 3D picture hanging on a wall. They match a 50w halogen light bulb. Temperature color is exactly the same as previous halogen lights, can be dimmed they are even with no flickering. Too bad I did not have this bulb years ago. Very happy with them!

Not really Dimmable
It's either on or off...the in between is worthless! My 12v 35 watt current bulbs are far superior, cheap, and the savings of energy is negligible with these!

Hit and miss
I have tried a number of different MR16 LED lights. The color is nice and warm so good for a living room. Brings out the color of the hard-wood floors. But color maybe too warm for a kitchen. The LEDs are not designed to be installed in an airtight container so need to check the application. The LEDs also vary in brightness with the current dimmer - I have purchased a new dimmer and want to see how that works. Brightness overall equivalent or a little brighter than MR16 halogen. Very pricy $30 but the cheaper LEDs are either not as bright or the color is very blueish.

Good Color, but thats it
This light, like all LEDS that I have tried to date, is a mixture of success and failure. The best thing about this is the color temperature is very warm, the closest to a halogen that I've seen from any LED. The dimming function works, and while I didn't check with philips' list of 'leading' dimmers, if Elco isnt on the list then its bogus because they are industry standard cans. The problem with the dimming is twofold it supposedly dims to 10%, but the 10% of this light bulb is a whole lot brighter than the 10% on my analog halogens. Still, the color temp at that level is still better than any other LED I've tried in this format. However, the deal-killer, which will result in these lamps being relegated to basement duty, is the WHINE! yes the high pitched whine that sounds like a computer fan coming from the unit when its dimmed below full power. Totally kills the mood. I put one of these in my bedroom to test it and when everything had settled down in the evening, I kept hearing something annoying that I thought was outside- and I spent 10 minutes running around like a nutter until I realized that it was coming from this bulb. Also like most LED that supposedly replace halogens, the dimensions are a bit off, resulting in a poor fit in the can no matter what. So for the price, I think this is a 2 star product.
