I've now purchased and installed three of these cores in my basement washrooms, and they have worked flawlessly. The genius of this little device is its unique mechanism. It's made of solid brass, which feels durable and high quality. The core is designed to open when water flows down the drain and then automatically shut completely when the water flow stops and the drain dries out. This has completely eliminated the sewer gas smell that used to emanate from the drains. As an added, very welcome bonus, it also acts as a barrier, preventing any insects from crawling up from the pipes. Installation was straightforward, and they fit perfectly into my existing floor drains. For anyone experiencing similar issues with drains in areas that aren't used frequently (like guest bathrooms, basement washrooms, or even utility room floor drains), I cannot recommend this COLDDD drain core enough. It's a simple, effective, and well-made product that solves a common and frustrating problem. A brilliant invention!
