Sen-cha Green Tea with Matcha Tea Bags, 100-Count

I plan to drink more green tea and so I've been seeking 'bulk' teabags to save money. Bought this Japanese Sencha green tea (100 bags/$15), and Harney&Sons Sencha Green Tea (50/$9) at the same time from amzn to compare. Both teas come in individual packets, which is what I prefer, even when making pots of tea--the tea seems to stay fresher longer. This tea is in foil air tight pouches, vs. paper packages.Brewed both with a Breville electric tea kettle that boils water to specific temperatures, including green tea, the lowest 175 degrees.I steeped both according to instructions. (It's a v. short steep time.) I much prefer the color and taste of this.The color is pale/clear green/yellow but the flavor is bright, grassy, and not at all bitter.Harney&Sons makes terrific teas generally and their Sencha is good. It tastes a bit earthier, steeps into a cloudy, murky olive-y green yellow. It's not bitter, just tastes more like hay than grass, if that makes sense. I will definitely drink this up over time, but it won't be my first choice.If like me you're looking to try more green tea in your day, definitely try this. It's delicious and I look forward to drink it each day. The only problem is that I'll probably want to drink it late in the day and stay up at night, it's so good. I'll def. be buying more.Also bought Brown Rice and Green Tea with Matcha from this supplier, too. Review among my others.UPDATE July 2017:I've ordered bags and bags of this tea, have brewed and drunk it hot and chillled cold, it is always delicious. The flavor is remarkably consistent over time. Haven't had a dud teabag or cup of tea yet. I hope I can always get this on Amazon, it's a staple.

This tea is the BEST! It has a deep flavor, more distinctive than other green teas. Since I first tried it over five years ago, I order it regularly and I have it every morning to start my day. I have never had any problem with packaging or shipping. I highly recommend this dependable seller.

It's not the super fancy and expensive tea you would use for "special occasions," but great for every day use. Without question it's better than similar offerings you'll get from western brands (Twinings, Bigelow, etc). I always brew it at 190°F or 75°C and then leave the bag in the cup until I'm done drinking it. You can use the bag for more than one cup, but this tea is inexpensive enough for a 100-pack that I like to use a fresh bag for every cup.Don't waste your time with grocery store green tea (unless they carry this)

The tea is ok but not a rich in flavor as the green teas available in Japan. I had hoped to replicate the green tea gifts I have received from friends visiting from Japan but this is more like a standard organic green tea available in US supermarkets.
