Working great with Lightburn. Does whatever I've asked of it so far. Haven't tried acrylic yet. But engraving is great. Cutting is good. Pays for itself in no time.

Machine would start and then after 10 seconds quit and disconnect. No documentation is provided and machine is not listed in machine list. I will send unit back asap because the return policy is only 30 days. Should have seen that as a red flag “ don’t buy this”. I tried to use GRBL laser and Lightburn with same results.

You're on your own with this one! The instructions that came with the unit included the assembly instructions and a VERY brief explanation of the software. The software itself is a free software (LaserGRBL) works with the unit however you have to use "trial and error" to determine your laser intensities and speed. the software does have a database on different laser models with laser settings and speeds with different materials, but obviously the LaserTree LT80W-AA-Pro 10W Laser module is not listed in the database. Obliviously I am a beginner at this laser cutting/engraving thing, so my knowledge is ZERO with this, but I was at last hoping that I would get step by step instructions. Other things not mentioned; you'll need to obtain an enclosure with a fan and exhaust tube to evacuate the smoke from engraving wood. (filled up my work area with smoke in 5 minutes time) Another item you need is a pair of safety glasses specific for laser use.

I have enjoyed everything about my laser engraver journey! I think this brand is pretty solid. The instructions were great for assembly out of the box. I did find that some of the components were very tight in terms of fit... Particularly the power / connection portion of the setup. But, despite this, I used laser GRBL to get started right away and after downloading an update was up and running. I definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos first on how to use laser GRBL. ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT: instead of jumping right in and burning wood I would recommend getting some pieces of cardboard.

Good product, the only thing, is that the X and Y axes get a little stuck when moving by hand, but works fine in normal speeds, I think it is normal in this type of linear motion system.

I do a lot of laser engraving on the wood flutes I make. I use this one just for engraving as I have another for cutting. The K1 Mini almost too good of a job - I had to drop the power percentages to keep it from burning in too deep. And this was on hard woods like maple, Purple Heart and Gabon Ebony very nice little laser!

Easy set up with the provided instructions. It does not come with software as most do not. A bit of a learning curve using the downloaded program (LaserGRBL). A couple youtube videos later, up and running. I am glad I purchased this one because it comes with the air pump as opposed to having to buy it separate. The pump is a must to clear the laser burn dust from the lens
