These are high quality solid wood balls. I used them as hands for a giant nutcracker. They were perfect and I would use them again. I searched a lot of places for solid balls that are this large with no luck. I was thrilled when I found these at a good price that could be delivered quickly.

Let me start by saying this is a great product, and comes at a reasonably good price. 100% recommended I see a lot of reviews saying that this are not completely round balls, and truth is they aren't, also that they're not solid pieces of wood. First of all, the way they make this pieces are by wood turning.. and it takes a lot of effort making something perfectly round. although if you really need them completely round it only takes a little bit of sanding. Second thing is that it is made by joining pieces of wood... it's common sense. making a 4 inch ball out of wood would take at least a 6 or 7x7 inch block of wood. It would be a waste of wood and no one on their right mind who works with wood would do that.

The CYS EXCEL 5" Decorative Wood Balls were perfect for a mosaic project art piece I have been working on. They can be used in so many ways toward a beautiful finished project that I am amazed by their versatility. Very reasonably priced too!

I bought these to use with a balance board but they balls have too many uneven surfaces to be usable for that. I was gonna sand them round but realized they had so many flat spots that it would take far too much effort to sand all of them out.

I made some cute little terracotta nativity’s. These were perfect for the heads. Great quality.

Roundness was fine for using it to create an agility balancing round board.

I wanted to stain & varnish these and thought the grain would be similar to the picture, where the grain is running in the same direction, like from a piece of solid wood. But the balls are 2 halves glued together with a very obvious line around the circumference and no grain pattern matching at all. Also, the north/south pole areas needed sanding because of lower quality lathing process. They will not serve my original purpose. I'm not returning them because I can use them for something else & spray paint them black.
