3mm, or about 1/8 inch. These are small magnets to begin with. The pictures do not show the actual size well. When looking at them side by side there is an obvious difference in size, but it is not very significant. It all depends on what you intend to use them for or what size opening you need to put them through.

Stronger than I anticipated

Cheap paint, not unexpected for the price. The magnetism is decent, although what you are sticking it to matters. I did not buy these for testing brass so I can’t speak to that.
