An amazing book for kids. The imagery ,explanation and related stories really captures the readers attention.The number of topics and the background makes science and maths come alive.

Was extremely surprised by this book has lots of interesting facts. It is also. quite humors.

Having a bright 8 year old nephew who is very mathematically minded. Loads of interesting information to stimulate the mind. It's not a book to read cover to cover, but where items to catch your interest. It's also a book to grow into (perhaps more for the average 9 year old, but with an adult, a great deal of pleasure will come from it.)

I love Johnny Ball and all his children's maths programmes were so educational. What a shame that they are no longer available. This book fills the gap though. Easy to understand, great fun for parents and children to work with and enjoy. Not patronising and does not talk down to anyone, but teaches maths in a great way!

This is a great book. My daughter has no confidence with maths, which we are trying everything to change. This book is simple and as you would expect (if you're a 40 something) explained brilliantly by the wonderful Johnny Ball.

I bought the Mathmagicians book because the reviews were very encouraging and I was looking for something to keep my 8 year old grandson enjoying math so he could do well and keep his academic confidence up. He loves it, thinks it's fun and tries to work out the puzzles and questions on his own. His parents love it too and they often work the questions out together like a game. My daughter, who like me did not do well in math, wishes she had the Mathmagicians book when she was in primary school as it makes math fun and interesting to learn...I wish I'd had it too.

Very good book from this range, worth buying and keeping even if your children are not old enough to read it yet. Or buy it and read it with them, fun book which may break some barriers some child encounter with Maths.

I think my granddaughter will be interested in this book as she likes maths

absolutely brilliant, great illustrations and humourous text.Has super projects like making a sun dial , star clock, chinese compass.Highly recommend

Well recommended! I bought it mainly for my kids to encourage them into maths, but it is just a general interesting read.

Very nice book, lots of pictures with short and clear explanations.

Great book but don't buy it if you have the "why pi" written by the same author. It is exactly the same book, all pages are identical apart from the cover and the title.
