Great quality product

It is adequate for any young space enthusiast since these are relatively difficult to find. Quality is average and scale is larger than matchbox but not by much.

Nice toy model, some assembly required. You can improve the look with a little model paint.

The overall finish of this model was pretty disappointing, especially compared to the item's photo shown here. The shuttle I received included none of the great looking tile decals, the only paint on the cockpit windows was black, and quite sloppy, and most of the other details shown in the product image are missing as well.Physically, parts have the fit of a toy, but I'd estimate durability closer to a model. For the price, this isn't too bad, but you should probably expect a child to eventually, if not quickly, break it. I didn't find assembly too difficult, but the tip of the screwdriver provided, despite being phillips, did not fit the screws on the model, and I had to use one I already had.It does have (rather small) folding gear, and of course the bay doors open most of the way. The Hubble Telescope included is simple, but accurate enough for something like this (though the lens cover itself does not open, which is a shame), and does attach to the very small "arm" in the shuttle bay, though it will not fit with the doors closed, of course. The astronaut is stark white with just black paint, with again sloppy application.I feel like the rough quality of this kit is actually in line with its low price, but its hard for me to recommend this model, or "playset". I don't think it's durable enough for younger children, and not nice enough for older kids, and certainly not worth displaying on the included stand without some pretty major custom repainting.

Daron models are usually among the highest quality in the miniature snap-together models arena of the 67 Daron/NewRay models I own, this is easily all five of the top five worst models.The QC of the production is terrible. The three black screws to attach the heat plate(black bottom) to the shuttle were mismatched threads. Only one fit without superglue.The instructions leave out three entire parts. There are shuttle bay walls that were never accounted for. Step 1 is screw the plate to the shuttle. Step 2 is attached the wheels.Without the bay walls the bay doors won’t stay attached, nor can you attached the screw for the thrust engines. Now you need to take the whole thing apart and go back to before step 1 to insert the walls. Remember the bottom has now been superglued.Unless you have a space theme display and don’t want to spend money this is not worth it… unless you found it for under $10.

I don't know what the other reviewer received, but I've ordered three of these, and they're all great. Minimal assembly required (mainly the engine nozzles), and definitely no incorrect parts (the cargo bay doors, in particular, are already attached). They are plastic, so not necessarily the hardiest things for tiny astronauts, but my six-year-old has no issues with his, and loves it.

My 8 year old son loved this. We also bought the space shuttle to go with it.
