Compared to my years old version, this Dell kicks it. It's fast, reliable, and the screen quality is great.

I was looking to upgrade my 5-year-old ASUS Zenbook laptop. For context, I use my laptop for relatively small-scale data analysis, word processing, research, reading, graphic design in Adobe Illustrator (I'm a bioengineering PhD student) as well as for browsing the web, watching TV shows, etc. I'm not a gamer or audio/video producer or anything like that, but I definitely use it more intensely than just for checking emails or messing around in Office applications. Overall, this laptop suits my needs. The keyboard, mousepad, and fingerprint sensors are are responsive and pleasant to use. The screen is BIG and a little more square shaped than what I am used to. The laptop is thin and while definitely not light, not so heavy that I can't put it in a backpack and bike to campus. It's done all the tasks I've asked of it quickly and without any issue. If I had one complaint, it would be the size of unchangeable text. The default settings are tiny icons and tiny text compared to how large they were on the laptop I used to have. I adjusted the text and icon size in Settings, but text within applications (such as in OneNote or on the Google Chrome bookmarks bar) deon't change which is annoying. Overall, I'd recommend this laptop. Just consider getting some magnifying glasses to go with it :) Side notes: 16" laptop cases are a little big on the sides, so I'm testing different 15" and 15.6" cases for a snugger fit.

Freeze for 5-10 seconds on a lot of random requests, like when I open a folder, a browser, an app, a new webpage, a new YouTube video/page. It was like this out of the box, as I was setting it up. It was like this after I made a manufactured reset about one month in. It it like this after 280 days. Everything is always up to dates. Nothing shows anything's wrong with antiviruses (BitDefender Pro Full), Device Manager, "Dell's Detect Problem" page. Nothing's strange in task manager. Malware scans show nothing. Weekly cleanup changes nothing. Constant updates (Windows, Dell, Intel) doesn't help. My Internet speed is over 400, the computer is always plugged, I give it a fresh restart once or twice a week (or as soon as I apply updates). I don't know if I received an already bad/broken one, but after 9 months of trying to fix issues with this computer, I've come to realize that it's probably just the computer itself. The Bluetooth is also a big issue. More than half the time, when I connect a device, let's say headphones, I see in the settings from the Windows Bar that it is connected (name of the device under the Bluetooth icon), but when I open the detailed setting, it is not. I've try almost a dozen of different Bluetooth devices, and they all have the same "half-the-time-does-not-really-connect-even-when-it-says-that-it-is" problem. They always work fine and right away when I connect those devices to my cellphone or other devices. I also had to troubleshoot a few things on my own, like the jack input for headphone didn't detect anything out of the box. There was other stuff as well, I just don't remember right now. I do give it a 3 stars as the rest is peachy. For the price, without those issues it would probably be a top-tier-mid-range computer.

I bought this laptop for my husband to use for trading, and he absolutely loves it. It is fast, reliable, and runs multiple programs smoothly without any issues. The screen is clear, the battery life is good, and the overall performance has exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with this purchase and definitely recommend it.
