"We understand that many people may already have most or all of Evas CDs," explains Blix Street President Bill Straw. "But, for those people who only have SONGBIRD, this anthology serves as an introduction to the other five Eva Cassidy CDs." Eva Cassidy died of melanoma at the age of 33 in November, 1996, months after the release of Live At Blues Alley. Although Cassidy was posthumously honored by the Washington Area Music Association as 1996s top female vocalist" in six separate musical categories and immediately voted into the WAMA "Hall Of Fame," it would be nearly five years before the world at large discovered the music of Eva Cassidy. After the initial release of Songbird and the re-release of Live At Blues Alley and Eva By Heart during the Spring of 1998, word of mouth began to spread around the globe. Time After Time was released in June, 2000, an NPR producer heard it and arranged for an Eva Cassidy segment on Morning Edition, broadcast in December of 2000, and Eva Cassidy CDs suddenly occupied the top four positions on the .com pop music chart. Meanwhile in England, the Top of the Pops 2 television program aired Evas Live At Blues Alley video performance of "Over the Rainbow," the clip aired again in January, 2001 due to overwhelming popular demand, and Songbirds run up the British Pop charts reached No. 1 on March 18, 2001. "Unknown American Singer Goes No. 1 In England Five Years After Her Untimely Passing" became news on American television. One by one, The Today Show, ABC News With Peter Jennings, CNN, among others, chronicled the bittersweet success of Eva Cassidy. ABC Nightline devoted an entire program to The Eva Cassidy Story, which received the greatest viewer response ever for a Nightline program and has so far been aired four times. Both Imagine (2002) and American Tune (2003) entered the British charts at No. 1, as Eva Cassidy became the first artist ever to achieve three posthumous British No. 1 albums. Of the six million Eva Cassidy CDs sold worldwide to date, Songbird accounts for half. Wonderful World provides a window into the five CDs that make up the other half.

I'm A HUGE Eva Cassidy Fan!!!
A friend gave me one of Eva's Blues albums & I fell in love with her!!! Once I learned that she had passed away with cancer, I made it a life's mission to purchase every one of her albums before I joined her. "Wonderful World" is a collection of some of her better songs. She had such a lovely voice that it breaks my heart that she is no longer here to share it with us!!! If you listen to some of the samples, I'll bet you will want to buy this one!!!

you can't go wrong with Eva
You simply can't miss. She never disappoints. The angelic lady with the heavenly voice. She can do it all: blues, rock, ballads; you name it. One of the finest singing voices you will ever hear. I can't praise this gifted singer enough. You might also want to buy the book on her life, should you fall in love with her–like I did.Tragically died young. She lives on forever.

The superb Eva Cassidy one more time
This is a great companion CD to 'Songbird'. If you can only purchase a limited number of Eva Cassidy recordings you can't go wrong with this selection of songs. (Of course every song she sings is great!!) If you already own the entire collection this one is still a nice addition to keep in your car or with your portable CD player. If you've never heard Eva Cassidy you're in for a rare treat when you listen to an Eva Cassidy song for the first time. You will be hooked!

An Angels Voice
This CD completes my Eva collection. Been a fan for years. Such a beautiful voice to sadly lose so soon. My Sister passed away last April and "Wonderful World" was her favorite song. May they both rest in peace.

You can't go wrong with Eva Cassidy
I own every one of Eva Cassidy's CDs and this one is my favorite. I fell in love with her voice about 2 years ago when I heard her rendition of "Over the Rainbow", which still brings me to tears every time I hear it. However, when I heard the version "Waly, Waly" on this CD, I sobbed!! Eva Cassidy had such a way of bringing the heart of any song right up to the surface. She sang from her "gut" and this CD showcases that quality, as well as her humility. If you've never heard any of her music, I encourage you wholeheartedly to go for this CD, you will NOT regret it! She was phenomenal and even though she's gone, she still touches us.
