JEGOAT Ear Wax Removal Tool Camera, 1296P HD Otoscope with 6 LED Lights

This tool worked great and was very easy to use. My daughter is prone to ear infections and has tubes in her ears, so I am always cautious when trying to clean her ears. The camera provided a clear view, which allowed me to safely remove built-up wax without causing any discomfort or injury. I was honestly surprised by how much ear wax I was able to remove. It helped me clear out clumps of buildup that I would not have been able to see otherwise. The picture quality was good, the app was easy to connect to, and it gave me peace of mind knowing exactly what I was looking at. If you have children who are prone to wax buildup or ear issues, I highly recommend this tool. It has been a great purchase for our family.

I was surprised by the quality of this as I didn’t expect much for such a cheap price. It took a few minutes to get the app setup and synced with my phone but then it was a breeze to use. Camera picture is pretty good. This product works great to extract cerumen in the front half or two-thirds of the ear canal. I wouldn’t recommend for trying an extraction near the ear drum but otherwise it works great.

Very useful and camera is too much good and providing live images. Also, prevent my ear drum when the tip close to ear drum. Good safety mechanism. Highly recommended and very intuitive.

Pros and Cons. Cons first: I bought this item to inspect my eardrums for earwax or other obstructions, but that is impossible with this item (JEGOAT) [and all other items of similar design on Amazon]. This item is about as long as a ballpoint pen, with a 9/16-inch spoon-shaped appliance at the end of a 1 and 3/16-inch metal cylinder/shaft that houses the camera and tiny LED lights. Since the spoon-tip cannot be removed, it both blocks the camera's view and prevents the forward progress of the camera into the ear canal by the spoon's own 9/16-inch length. Besides that issue, the LED lights are not strong enough to penetrate very far into the blackness of my inner ear canal. I considered filing-off the metal spoon-tip, but I am not sure that would work due to the shortness of the metal shaft and the weakness of the LED lights. If the shaft were longer and flexible (or bendable), if the spoon was removable, and if the LED lights were brighter, it might be a more capable product (at least for my purposes). Also, the software is missing one key feature that would really help in using this device: namely, the ability to switch the smartphone display of the camera picture to its mirror image. This would be much more helpful because we almost always see mirror images of our own faces, not how others see us, so when using this tool every movement seems "backwards". I looked at the iPhone display's reflection in a mirror to solve this problem, but I shouldn't have to invent "work-arounds" to correct this item's design flaws (fortunately, this is probably an easy software fix if the company reads this and wishes to improve this product). For these reasons, I deducted 1/5 stars. Pros: Downloading the software from the Apple App Store, installing the software on an iPhone X, and getting this item up and running was super easy. The soft cover of the spoon-tip is very comfortable in the ear, so it is useful just to scratch an itch inside the ear canal. My own ears stopped producing earwax over 20 years ago, but I would think if one's outer ear canal had a lot of earwax, this item would be very useful (although, as I said earlier, the deeper you want to go into the ear canal, the less useful or effective this item becomes). I just got this item yesterday (and so I have only tested it for one day), so I cannot review this item's reliability yet, but it seems to be a well-made device that recharges correctly and performs the limited functions well that it was designed for. For these reasons, I gave it 4/5 stars. Best Regards, PG

Works really well and is easy to use. Camera is better quality than previous ones I’ve tried. The silicone tips are comfortable. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

This device is so cool! It's sleek, the light is bright, it charges with a C, comes with different tools you can use, and connecting it to my phone to use it each time is really easy. The camera is incredible! I can see all my pores and little hairs! I have facial piercings and a new ear piercing that I need to keep clean. I got curious and not to be gross, but I used the camera to view my piercings and I could see the build-up of plasma and the the little q-tip fibers that were stuck to the stud from the prior cleaning. The battery lasts a while or it seems like it does and charges quick.

Amazing set, very useful and good quality. App is easy to use making the ear cleaning go smoothly and effective. Would 100% recommend!!

The picture quality is good - surely adequate to see what is necessary. I’m a retired anesthesiologist, so used to using video medical equipment. I have two problems: 1. The picture freezes at times, despite close proximity of my phone and strong wifi and Bluetooth signals. 2. A bigger problem is image rotation. In order to simply see farther down the ear canal, one must tilt the scope to change where the camera is aimed. Whenever I change the angle of the entire device, though, the image ROTATES - as though I were spinning the barrel along its long axis! I am NOT doing that! This makes it nearly impossible to even touch the wax I can see, much less remove it. I do not understand why this is happening. It makes the device not very useful for removing wax. (BTW, some people like my wife, make dry wax, which is very adherent to the skin of the canal and thus very difficult to remove). I should add, it’s essential to support your hands while the business end is in the ear canal. Pressure against the walls of the ear canal (itself fragile) is painful. As well, perforation of the ear drum is quite possible, even with the covered blue spoon of the video device, itself - or with any of the curettes provided. These are of surprisingly high quality - they appear precision machined. Nonetheless, be very careful placing any of these tools in the ear canal. Though well made, they can still injure anything they touch; so braced hands, slow small movements - especially when trying to insert anything near the ear drum. This review comes nearly 2 years after purchase and I haven’t used it sine the initial use way back then. I don’t recall the image rotation when I first got it. If the image didn’t rotate in an unpredictable manner, I would give it 4+ stars - especially at its current amazingly low price.
