A little repetitive, but that's the nature of beginning piano. Review: I love the primer & level 1 books! - I teach my beginner children out of the primer & level 1 books. They are very logical & linear, helping the learner to have a very well-rounded understanding of music theory & technique with a good balance of practice & application for enjoyment & growth.

[Reviewing Level 1 Sightreading Book Faber Piano Adventures (Paperback)] As a piano teacher, I find this an excellent resource for students who need a little extra work on Level 1 reading. Through repetition and gradual challenging, the student learns to recognize notes and patterns intuitively. My students all have gained confidence and skill. Note: it should not be used as a replacement for the Lesson, Theory, Performance, Technique or other repertoire books. I have only used it during lessons - assigning it may be tricky because the pieces aren't "fun" - they are very helpful, though, especially when I offer coaching and reminders to keep the student focused.

Recommended by daughter's piano teacher
We use what my daughter's piano teacher recommends as part of her weekly lesson. The binding is weak though so you may have to tell younger students to be gentle with it. Nothing wrong with the book..

Recommended for Piano Beginners
My little one has been using the Piano Adventures - Sightreading Book - Level 1 for piano lessons, as recommended by the piano teacher. The book itself serves its purpose well, aiding in sightreading skills development. While it arrived on time, I do wish the packaging had been better, as the book arrived slightly bent. Nevertheless, it hasn't affected its usability.

We love the book for my eight year old son because it has an easy gradient and isn't difficult. The concept is brilliant and my son who doesn't like to practice is up for the challenge, especially when he knows he only has to play it once. The book follows along nicely with his lesson book.

Learning by having fun
I am an adult and use this book for sight reading. The book is just fun. The melodies are nice. It does not put so much pressure on the learner to learn.
