Great built and deep bass
Bass is very deep. Before purchasing it, I was using taga harmony 506 v2 speakers. Even that has very good bass and I am sure that the amount of bass it delivers is enough for majority of the people. All I needed was a boost. So, I began to play some movies. I started with some ordinary drama movies, but didn't find any difference, it seemed that my taga was enough. Disappointed, I ran mad max fury road. I knew this is the movie that could really test my woofer. All on a sudden, there was a huge blast of sound and everything changed. The beating of drums and the purr of blazing cars brought the cinematic effects that I badly needed. I could feel the bass. You know bass is sweet when it's not heard, but felt. In my small room, keeping the volume at 40% was enough. Like all other subwoofers, this one needs to have a decent bass encoded in the source material. Only then, it will sound pleasant. If the content does not have any good amount of lower frequency sounds, you still can expect some bass from it by increasing the volume. The thing is that it won't be very pleasant to hear. I felt that this subwoofer is better for movies than music, don't know why. Probably my taga harmony speakers added to the cinematic experience while playing movies with multi channel audio. To get the best of it, you need to go to the settings of your receiver and set all the speekers to 'low'. Sometimes proper positioning of the subwoofer is needed to get the most out of it. Lastly, the product is quite heavy and well built. What I am using now is actually a replacement product, the first one sent was damaged at some corners, also the packaging was poor. The replacement is a new one with invoice and warranty card and now the packaging was also good. Surprisingly there was a tag with the word 'custompack' on it. Although at first impressions, the product seems to be well built with great audio quality, I'm a bit apprehensive about its long-term reliability given my past experience with yamaha products. Fortunately, yamaha authorized service centers are to be found in almost all major cities. Although this is a budget category product, but I feel the price could have been a bit lower. Still, regarding performance, there's nothing to complain, performance wise it's a genuine 5 star.

Quality Product
This is my first sub-woofer and I am quite satisfied with the bass quality of this Yamaha sub-woofer. Thundering bass. Best for medium size room. Value for money. Must go for it.

Overwhelmed Bass!
1. Quality of the product is good enough. 2. This model producing overwhelmed effect for medium size hall. So, those want to fix in large hall it is perfect one. 3. My opinion is SW050 Woofer, it's more than sufficient for medium size room. 4. No cross over setting on amplifier which may disappoint.

Excellent Sub Woofer for 5.1 Home Theatre
A perfect match for your Home Theatre package if you are looking for a Powered (Active) Sub Woofer. It has the right amount of thump bass. You can play with volume knob at the back of the woofer to adjust as per your needs. I think in my opinion it is a bit costly. Build Quality ⭐5 Sound ⭐ 5

Good product
Good subwoofer to have. Very good built quality and bass effect is as expected. I can not write comparison result with other make subwoofers as this is my first purchase. But over all it meets requirement in terms of cost and performance.

Quality is good but cable should be provided for attach with amplifire
Yamaha is a big brand in sound system and therefore costly also, but also should give some accessories for attachment

I guess hacking around with older brothers stack turntable amp and speaker system in early 60s makes @ 60 years experience. Jan and Dean meet the Beachboys fun fun fun. I was as in the past, was ....a dedicated 2.0 channel feller...Squeeze every drop o bass out of sound boxes. At my age one doesn't share many audiophile level home visits anymore. So I must pay attention to audio podcasts for new ideas. Using a Yamaha a s 501 amp now. I use a PSB Alpha Speaker type in a 4 speaker alignment. I then use all speaker switch on the amp. Sounds great. But, kept seeing videos on this 2.1 ..5.2...7...9... systems. No not this old dog. Finally like a hungry boatdock brim, bit the bait and was hooked. Not expecting much, this woofi has changed my system so much... A great lesson for moi. Keep learning. Music in the well recorded arena as the re-Mastered mo fi Santana was so so much better. On the other paw p oor recordings came alive. Surprisingly stuff like Marty Stuart's And The Superlatives Space Junk became a classic. I did leave the PSB ranch and went with Yamaha... Mainly due to moving to new home and needed no hassles with connectivity. Youngsters...moving at age 70 plus is not as fun as a 1970s tossing an army surplus bag of clothes and your audio system rides the 65 Mustang up front..the tang was a beater....bad reason to buy the Yami s but as good as this speaker sounds can't see myself needing anything else. Only problem I encountered was my ME built custom rca speaker cable connect was too large? Finally found a premade one which fit. My bride heard some words not used for decades while trying to find a match. Just began changing over to Nakameeshi? Connects...same problem... You would think 120 years of rca we could figure a way. Oh well, going to listen to a bit to one of, if not the best system I've owned..the Yamaha put it over the top for me..a bow and tip o hat to the Yami folks for quality at good price.
