Large is a relative term
This is a wonderful little bag. It is thoughtfully designed, sturdy, and useful. I’ve only used it for short rides of about an hour each, but appreciate the comfort of knowing I am carrying everything I need to fix a flat in a package that is easy to install and remove, tucks securely under my seat, doesn’t wobble around or get in the way of my riding, has reflective tape, and a double zipper for easy access from both sides. Mine is size “large,” which I would call “large enough.” On my Polygon Extrada 7 MTB, it holds an inner tube for 29”x2.25” tire, multi tool that is 3”x1.75”x1”, 3 tire levers, small patch kit, CO2 inflator with cartridge, and 10”x12” microfiber towel. There is about 2 cubic inches to spare, like 2 energy bars. It’s good to know that there is also extra room in the drop down pouch should I need it. Yesterday I had a flat rear tire and I was back on the bike path in about 15 minutes. Was I glad to have everything I needed! I’m also glad I ordered a “large.”

Best mtb saddle bag for money.
This bag is the perfect size (large). If it is close in price to the medium, opt for the large. It will easily fit an iPhone 15 pro max along with wallet and keys. Looks sturdy, but will update if any quality issues arise. Pros: Inexpensive, good size, well made and designed, reflective material on the rear with a cutout for a reflector. Contoured opening helps fit slightly larger items than a flat one would. Velcro strap for seat post is adequate. Hard plastic insert protects items inside from the seat rails above. Cons: Cheap sewn on nylon zipper pull, single clip design. I wish it had one on each side for more secure mounting and adjustability. TLDR: I'm happy with the price I paid, size, and quality. I would buy this again.

The quality of the product seems very good and it seems thick and durable and not cheaply ...
Got the small size and it fits well under my Trek 7.3 hybrid bike, even with the seat in the forward most position, and maybe sticks out half an inch to an inch as in the photo. It is just large and long enough to hold a galaxy s4 smartphone with a case on it, and I could probably get a spare tube, small co2 inflator, and spare cartridge along with a multitool and car keys in there as well to cover basic necessities to help with a flat. The quality of the product seems very good and it seems thick and durable and not cheaply made at all. The slot to put a rear light on does point downward sharply, which is a bit annoying, but it still seems visible, or you can attach it directly underneath the bag on the seat tube as well. I do wish the plastic clip that you loop through the underside of the seat to secure it had the clip on either side of the seat instead of on the top of the bag, as it makes it very difficult to tighten fully and clip so that it sits snugly directly below the seat and not hanging down an inch or so. By the time you shorten the adjustable portion of the clip all the way, you have no room to work to connect it underneath the seat as the bag is in the way. Having the fixed portion of the clip on the side would make this way easier, but once you get adjusted properly its secure, and the velcro strap that goes around the seat tube seems secure as well. Great size for bare necessities that will also fit a modern smartphone and a few other essentials, without being bulky or overkill.

Terrific Bike Bag - Small size is perfect for my needs.
This relates to the SMALL size BV Bike Strap On Seat Bag. When it came to researching the best bike bag (for which I probably spent way too much time), the most important question I had to answer was how would I use this bag? Was I looking to store the basics of on-road repair, or was I looking to carry a myriad of personal items? In my case, I was looking for the basics, plus perhaps a little extra room if I wanted to hold keys, license or extra phone charger. I also wanted to make sure the bag did not extend beyond the profile of my seat and obviously did not want it to brush up against my legs. For me - the Small size BV bag was perfect. Regarding the "profile" note that your type of bike, seat and seat positioning make a difference. So reading about what works for others may not be a good reference, at least without photos, which I've included. My bag carries: 1-Replacement tube; 1-Crank Brothers 21 toolset; 2-tire levers; 1-Pro Bike CO2 Inflator w/Canister; 2 CO2 cartridges. To be fair, it is a tight fit and takes a little puzzling to get the best configuration. But as I thankfully, rarely need access to the items, it's fine. Though I'm not a weight weenie, I do like to keep things streamlined. I also slide my license and a key in without a problem. However, as many people ask, the small size would not also accommodate my phone, which I keep it on my handlebars anyway, so that is not an issue. I did visit a number of bike shops to see what they carried, more for size than anything. The Amazon pricing was considerably cheaper than in bike shops. I know the medium size has a collapsible expander, which would be great for the small as well, but honestly, it's not necessary. I would definitely buy a BV again as it straps on tightly (watch their installation video), is well constructed, has a net pouch inside and a strap to clip on a light. I may try the medium on my hybrid mountain bike just for comparison and will write about it if I do.

THIS WORKS AS A TANDEM STOKER BAG!
We have used the large BV saddle bag as a tandem stoker bag for several years with excellent results. We recently added a new tandem to our collection and bought a second BV bag for our new bike. These bags fit well (check the dimensions on your bike), the seat post Velcro strap works, the saddle strap can easily be wrapped over the stoker stem on top, and we add a length of double-sided Velcro to the fabric loop underneath the bag to wrap around the stoker's top tube. It is easy to install. The bag opens from the top facing the stoker, and is durable and spacious. There's plenty of room for a spare inner tube and a power bank to run the stoker's iPhone. Recommended for this application.

Difficult to attach to seat; expansion zipper caused bag to contact rear tire
First off I liked the fact that I could store all of my tools in the bag. But in order to easily store a spare tube I had to undo the zipper that expands its capacity. When I expanded the bag it started to drag on the rear tire. My seat is raised as high as it can go, so that wasn't an option. The other problem I encountered was the strap that attaches the bag to the bottom of the seat. The buckle is arranged such that it is difficult to tighten...it would be better for the buckle and strap to attach to the sides of the top of the bag vs the center. Ultimately to get it tight enough I had to weave the extra length of strap around the seat supports and tie off in a knot. On a good note, the first week I used the bag I happened to be out riding when I encountered a huge downpour. I was soaked to the bone. I had stored my cell phone in the bag and after my ride I pulled it out and it was completely dry. I don't think it's intended to be completely waterproof, but it did better than expected in a heavy rainstorm. I also like how easy it is to attach my rear light to the bag. It's a clip on and I simply removed it from the clamp on my seat post and clipped it to the strap on the back of the bag....very convenient. Overall it's a decent bag for the money, just had a couple issues to work around with the straps.

How could it be better?
If you're going on long rides, you're going to want to carry those essential tools to prevent yourself from getting stranded. If you're on a road bike keeping it light you're not going to want a huge bag like on a touring bike. You're not going to want to carry all those tools in your jersey either. There's enough stuff in those pockets already. An under-saddle bag is the solution, and that's what this is. Maybe there's a better one out there, but this one has worked for me with several years with no signs of wearing out. I also can't imagine what there is to improve upon. First, it has enough storage capacity for everything I need on the road. Tubes, CO2, levers, tools, patch kit, everything. It's a bit cramped, but it all fits and zips closed no problem. You can also undo one zipper to increase the capacity a bit if things are really tight. I'm not sure if it's technically water proof or water resistant, but I have been caught in the rain a few times, and nothing in the bag has ever gotten wet. It straps on to the bicycle very securely and tightly. It is very easy to take it off and put it back on, for example when I'm cleaning the bike. When secured properly it doesn't wobble or anything. I don't even realize it's there while I'm riding. On top of all that, it has a little tab on the back. My red rear light clips onto that tab perfectly. Pretty sure that's intentional, but it's still a great feature. If you need a saddle bag on your bike, and you can't find something even better, you should have no concerns about buying this one.
