Are both sides colored, or is one side white?

The 100 Pantone color cards are printed as postcards: 3.75x5.75” dimensions; a 3.75” square dedicated to the actual color, underneath in black lettering is printed the Pantone number attributed to the color. On the reverse side is a blank card that is divided in two by a black line that is typically found on postcards. The face side has a color square; the reverse side is white.

What is the finish on the cards? Could they be painted on the front?

I’ve used sharpie pens but not painted them. It’s a matte finish card so I guess you could paint them.

Are these "official" color swatches, or just "for fun" ?

Just for fun they're literal postcards but they do have real names, numbers, a nd colors.
