Is there an expiration date on the package?

Yes. On the bottom. The one we got in February 2019 has an expiration of 10/2019. Very fresh beans when opened.

Very expensive, why the high price ?

100% rainforest alliance certified. Natural and artificial flavors. Also, it comes in a 2 pound package. I am a coffee connoisseur and this is the best deal I have found on good, flavored whole beans.
