SZCO Supplies 11.25" British Style Black Commando Knife – Stainless Steel Double-Edged Blade with Black Metal Handle and Leather Sheath

One Sunday evening, I was struck with desire for a Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, and happened upon this item. Thirteen dollars and two days later, this arrived at my door. Because I live in the real world and not a fantasyland, I am satisfied with it. It's metal. It's pointy. It's sharp. It looks menacingly cool, just like a real Fairbairn-Sykes. It's not as well made as a real F-S. The balance point isn't perfectly located behind the hilt, so it's not quite as nimble. The included sheath did not fit well at first, but when I squeezed the sides together and pushed the knife in forcefully the problem was solved. In short, it is exactly what I expected and will serve quite well for my intended purpose, as a display piece. Mine was sharp out of the box, but don't expect that, because these are probably manufactured in a poorly lit concrete room by a barefoot teenager using a bicycle powered grinder. The metal probably came from a Fiat Panda melted down by a goatherd with a blowtorch. And that's fine, because I only paid $13 for it If you bet your life on a $13 Pakistani made "commando knife", you are a moron. I'm not sure exactly what some of these Tier 1 operators who wrote the other reviews were expecting for thirteen bucks, but here's the deal: an F-35 costs more '07 Corolla, but if your commute does not require air superiority, the Corolla will do just fine at a much more agreeable price point. If you want a Fairbairn-Sykes to display, or just to play with, this is your Corolla. It is visibly close enough to honor the legacy of the soldiers who carried them. And if you are a fellow overgrown child, i am happy to report that the blade is quite adequate for sliding between the ribs of countless imaginary German sentries. If you need a tactical weapons platform for high speed low drag edged weapon combat operations against our nation's enemies, look elsewhere.

The knife is good as a display item. I used this on as a centerpiece for a military promotion plaque. The tip on the scabbard barely hangs on and is only good for storing the knife until you use it for a craft. It's not suitable a a carry item as the leather is thin and the tip cover is barely held on.

The quality is poor and the blade symmetry is way off. The right side is way off.

I bought two so far & will buy a third with a shiny brass finish. This knife is an essential tool for knife fighting and martial arts training where using a knife capable of killing men is the most basic need. The length is ideal for stabbing for effect and it is capable of hitting deep vital organs. The handle is ribbed to maintain a good grip, especially with wet hands. It sharpens well, holds an edge, and after nearly 2 years of use it has resisted rust. I cannot praise this tool enough

okay for a display or costume; but, SOOOOO cheap, which is reflected in the price, obviously. can't see actually USING it for any knife-type work. proportions are off; 'leather' sheath is made from what is best described as 'cardboard' leather, which rips and disintegrates like cheap particle board. it's as if the 'leather' was ground up, then reconstituted. if you DID use it as a knife, not a display, it'd prolly be the LAST time you used it. cheap, cheap, CHEAP.

Its good for the price. Shieth falls apart but the blade itself is good enough to take out a german or two. Lol

For what this costs, it's surprisingly good. This isn't the sort of knife you'd ever want to trust your life to, but it makes an outstanding display piece. As far as I can tell, it looks fairly authentic, not having any obvious markings to betray that it's made in Pakistan. The leather isn't anything fancy, but it does retain the knife very well. I also noted that the knife is impeccably balanced, and does feel rather nice in the hand. The blade is fairly dull, but the tip is reasonably pointy. As I said, I wouldn't trust my life to this knife, but I suppose it'd do in a pinch.

It's exactly what I wanted, and at the price I was willing to pay for it. The sheath could be better. But for the price, it doesn't concern me one bit. Solid construction, moderately sharp blade. If you are looking for a replica, this is your knife.

Blade is very pointy, decent utility edge. The sheath is kinda cheap but what more do you want for $15

A tad cheap. Nice but unfit for duty. Nice reproduction if you don't plan using it in the field

Bought it for a prop. The knife is crap, which I expected, but I wanted it to at least look good from a distance. The cheap cast handle shows tonnes of air bubbles and the mouldlines that you can see from arms length. The sheath looks like absolute crap from a distance, then up close it looks like a badly made children's craft project. The knife won't even fit into the sheath, making it pretty much useless, I managed to force it so ONLY 1/2 an inch was sticking out of the top of the sheath. The PLASTIC at the bottom of the sheath doesn't even appear to be straight from a distance, and the mouldlines are brutal.
