Amazing!
I've had this in operation now for a couple of months and it has yet to lose the signal to the outdoor unit. We live in a steel sided house with a steel roof. I do have the indoor console sitting on a table with a clear shot through a window to the outdoor sensor 200 feet away. You do have to use their smartphone app to set up the system and to do things like connect it to your wireless network and enter the wunderground info and I'm no fan of that. Once set up though I've not used that app since except to check for firmware updates. There have been several that came through since our unit has been in operation.I'm currently using weewx running on my router and using the interceptor.py module to capture in realtime the data sent off to wundergroud. That captured data is uploaded to my own server. There is one weird glitch--the indoor console is great but the Moon image is off exactly 180 degrees--when it shows we should be having a full moon we are actually having a new moon and vice versa throughout the month. I'm sure that this is a firmware issue that can be easily fixed though, and really isn't that important to me. As an amateur astronomer I don't need my weather station to tell me what the current phase of the moon is though ;-).In summary, if you are looking for an internet only weather station with a great indoor console and rock solid connection to the outdoor unit look no more--you've found it. Using weewx and the interceptor module you can even maintain your own database of weather observations!UPDATE 2/1/2019 I contacted the seller about the Moon phase issue and he replied the same day--it is a result of switching the console from dark on white background to white on dark background. The manufacturer is aware of the problem and it will be addressed in a future firmware update. He also offered to send me an older console that would correct the problem but I declined that. Can't beat that!

So far so good!
Only had this a few days, but first impressions are very positive. Build quality is better than I expected for a unit priced at this level, and so far the accuracy appears to be very good compared to other stations near by.A bit of background: I own an expensive 10 yr old Davis Vantage Vue at another home. That station suffers afternoon temperature creep on sunny calm days. I was concerned that a 'cheap' solution would suffer worse or be built very poorly and not last long. I also wanted a station that would allow me to report to servers with 'Rapid Fire', something my Vantage Vue with Davis WeatherlinkIP wont do (15 min update fixed by Davis Servers) unless I invest even more money for an always on computer and report directly. What is worse, now Davis wants to charge me to retrieve my data off their server which is my only option as I choose the WeatherlinkIP path a decade ago.So, I was looking for a low cost solution for this home with direct connect to the weather servers I use (WU & WeatherCloud), accurate, and one where I can get to my data without more expense. I am happy to report this station is fitting that need very nicely. I will add that the display is a bit old school, but with my data online, the display is more of a secondary access point from me. I actually appreciate that I didn't have to pay a lot more for a fancy display.

Your setup milage may vary
First off, I really do like this unit. it may give you to much information on it display. When you unbox it. be sure to check carefully you have all the part. Mine had a lose bag that was small. it had a bag in a bag with small screws. I had thought I was missing a part until I looked closer and found it was still in the box. When you get it setup, the app is a bit difficult use to setup. The app does not seem to be good for much other than setup. I am not seeing any data from the unit in the app. I have to go to one of the weather sites that it is connected to. Overall, I really don't need my homes inside temp sent to a public site to collect data. I should be able to turn that off. but I have not found it yet. in the end, would I buy it again? Yes, dollar for dollar and features its a good deal. Now to see how long it lasts.

Horrible quality ... just terrible
I set this unit up on a table as the manual recommends and it worked fine for about a day. After that the sensor unit (outdoor portion) simply stopped sending data to the indoor display. It didn't matter how or where I positioned the two units relative to each other, and changing to known good batteries didn't make any difference. A reset using a paper clip is supposed to result in the underside LED being on for four seconds followed by a blink every sixteen seconds, but the LED just stays on forever. I even put the sensor unit in the dark for a day to make sure the internal storage depleted for a full reset but that didn't help either. The unit simply failed after one day indoors unattended. In addition, the display unit is unreadable when viewed straight on, and the backlight switch has no effect at all in any position. Even with the wallwart power supply the display has to be viewed from above at roughly a 45 degree angle to optimize the contrast. I could live with that if the sensor unit functioned properly, but it doesn't. With quality this bad I'd never buy from this manufacturer again.

Connects to servers in China
If the wifi feature is important to you, buyer beware this has all kinds of security issues. It cannot be used on an isolated IoT network; it requires connections to Baidu in China as well as servers in Taiwan to operate. It must be configured from one of two third party phone apps, which are also difficult to assess from a security perspective. Shame, because it can be configured to log to a local server via the ecowitt protocol. If you don't care about any of that stuff... it's fine. The set screw the unit came with for the wind vane was too short on mine though. Had to get one that fit from McMaster Carr.
