Do these blades have any connection to gillette?

It seems not.  They're private / mysterious compared to typical American companies (example: Ford, which is as public about founding and ownership as can be).  Based on research on tradekey, badger and blade, sharpologist, and just generally googling around, the parent company is Deepak Enterprises, founded in 73 in India.  The American marketing partner at this time appears to be Jeff Woda, and the India partner seems to be Deepak Grover.  The blades seem to be a very recent product line, manufactured in Turkey starting only a couple years ago, not forty years or whatever marketing claim.  The marketing claims about age are tenuously correct, in that the company has been in business since 73, admittedly selling razors not blades.

The marketing is sketchy and hides enough to look suspicious, although upon research it seems there's nothing to worry about and they're actually a pretty cool company.  A strange but effective marketing strategy because curiosity is the only way to get me researching a brand for ten minutes online...

As a personal note after using these for awhile... you can pay other companies perhaps ten times more for blades that are maybe ten percent better... I'm pretty happy with these blades.

How does this compare to the feather hi-stainless platinum double edge razor blades?

Feather: Sharper, shaves closer, 1-2 shaves (head and face), harsher edge, Parker: More comfortable, definitely still shaves well, 4-6 shaves (head and face). Personally, these are my favorite / go-to razors.

Where are these made? how does this compare to the astra platinum double edge safety razor blades? thanks.

These are manufactured in Turkey. In either the factory that produces Derby, or the plant that produces LION blades. They are Swedish stainless steel with a platinum, chromium, & tungsten  coating. I'm finding then sharp, but smoother than Astra. So far  I've used them in my WCS 135B, and my RazoRock Game Changer. Since they're Swedish steel, they might be too dense for use in a slant. BUT I haven't tried them in my slant yet. That is just a generalization of the characteristics with Swedish steel having to conform to the slanted bottom plate..Then again, they may very well be terrific there also. How do they compare to the presonna's red?

these are pretty fine blades. Start out SHARP, if not a little harsh (splits the difference between feathers and silver blues on the first shave). Mellows from there, and becomes sharp, smooth, and not irritating. So far, so good with these.
