Excellent/efficient pump
I have two fish ponds and many tubs/aquariums. The large pond is about 15,000 - 18,000 gallons so I have some experience with large air pumps. Over the years, I have used many types/brands of air pumps ranging from the loud and hot "commercial" air pumps, linear diaphragm air pumps (Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, with increasing quality in that order), to the linear piston air pumps (mainly Medo brand). I can say that Fujimac is one of the best pumps in terms of efficiency and noise level at the rated air pressure and volume. The only thing unknown at this point is diaphragm and flapper valve longevity. However, from my past experience with Japanese made diaphragm pumps, I think the Fujimac should offer industry leading service life for the rubber parts. From what I have read, the Hiblow XP-80 pump is in the same league as the Fujimac 80. They both use strong rare earth magnets thus having higher efficiency. However I have no first-hand experience with the XP-80 pump. The (Fujimac) pump is nominally rated at 51 Watts. In my installation, it consumes only about 38 Watts (see photo). I used a Kill-A-Watt meter to measure power consumption when the pump is running through about 25 feet of 5/8" ID tubing to a large EPDM 20" long cylindrical membrane diffuser wrapped around 2" PVC pipe. The water depth is about 4.5 feet deep. A typical 80 LPM air pump uses, on average, 60-70 watts. The other photo showing three air pumps driving three EPDM diffusers and you can see the FujiMac put out slightly more air (hard to see in photo) at almost half the electricity consumption. Around the year 2000, I acquired a couple Gast (USA company) "industrial" linear diaphragm air pumps but the pumps were made in Japan. I do not know which Japanese company OEMed these Gast pumps but the first one ran for 15 years straight 24/7 and finally one of the two diaphragms was torn. The replacement has been running since year 2015 non-stop up to today. I hope the Fujimac air pumps will run that long as well. On YouTube, there are a few videos about the Fujimac air pumps, some produced by Wholesale Septic Supply and others made by Fujimac (the company). In one of the videos, a Fujimac service person made this written comment: ". . . typically go more than ten years on the original diaphragms". I understand rubber parts longevity depends on climate and application setup, but I certainly hope this will be the case in my cool Michigan climate and good tubing/diffuser setup at reasonable water depth. I really like this pump and I ordered another one yesterday.

Good alternative to HiBlo 80
What I like: Sturdy. Good build quality. As powerful, as energy efficient, and as noisy as the HiBlo 80, for about 2/3 the price. What I don't like: Advertise as most efficient pump in class...but not really any difference than the HiBlo 80. Overall...I think this is a very nice pump. I bought it mainly due to claim that it's the most efficient pump....but it's really not that much more efficient. But it's well built and cheaper than most out there. Only downside is that HiBlo is pretty much universal and parts are much easier to come by. Overall I think the Fuji Mac is an excellent buy.

Super quiet
I bought this to replace a Blue Diamond unit of the same size. I always had it in a cement block bunker with dirt for noise suppression. It's located 60 feet from the house. Even with the windows closed, I could always hear it humming outside. This Fuji is super quiet. I can feel the vibration while standing next to it, but that's it. Ten feet away and I can't even tell it's there. I can see that it's putting out the same amount of air with none of the noise. I love this Fuji aerator.

Runs cooler and quieter than HIBlo 80 it replaced.
Really hot in South Texas. The HiBlo 80 which is pretty universal around here was running very hot and blowing diaphragms every week. Finally I just replaced it with a FujiMac80 air pump. Easy and direct replacement. I have just had it out in the open so far but have built a special enclosure for it to keep it ventilated and safe from animals and mowers. It uses the same hoses that the old unit used. Three year warranty and under $300 a few days ago. Anyone could do this replacement and save probably $1000 service call. Arrived overnight and I had it up and going in 30 minutes. Plug and Play. It runs so much cooler than the old one.

Quiet, easy to install,
Very quiet and vibration free Installed under bedroom and dont notice compared to previous Thomas aerator. Cant report on longevity. Just clamp on outlet hose and plug in. Couldnt be simpler.
