I have a wharfdale radio that's missing its lead. its info sticker reads 'power source ac 230v - dc 12v'. will this lead work?

Well I don't know the product but if it has a two pin figure eight socket in the back this is the standard plug of this style. The 12volt I assume refers to a 12volt jack in the back so that you can power it from a car. I do hope this helps as I can only go by setups I have seen in the past.

The earth pin is metal. Not that it makes any difference because on the other end you only have two pins. The earth pin is not connected. In this scenario the earth pin is only there to open the shutter over the other two pins in the wall socket.
