Transcend 4TB StoreJet 25H3 Rugged Portable HDD, One Touch Backup

Hi, I bought this item new in plastic. It was shipped to me very fast. Since I opened the package and I saw it I said I love it. Right now I did move everything from my laptop and my 3 memory sticks on this external HDD and it's stil by like 10% or less of the total capasity. I'm very happy with it I love it. Good stuff specially when you have kids home walking around. It fell on the ground but still working like noting happened! I would recommend this. Seriously. The review was written couple of days after when I got in my email that if I would like to write a review of this product. Now after a year or more, I could say this is crap. I just wrote a review for a next one I bought after this one, after it dodnt want to work. BTW I did check to see if I could get it fixed, had to go through a HELL on Transcend website. They asked me for this serial that this thing that My god! Never again. The next one was the black/dark grey one with green edges. I have lost all my digital materials. Didn't get no refund for none of them, no warranty however it says it comes with warranty. Do not never ever let it fall not even on your bed. The green on felt on the floor from about15-20 inches while hanging on the cord when I took my laptop accidentally. SO this item is: MISSION INCOMPLETED. if u want a hard drive shock prove, look for other brands. This is my recommendation who bought twice the same crab didn't get no refund, no replacement, no warranty, only bunch of crap and instructions from Transcend website to go left and right and left and didn't get nowhere until today.

Recently bought a pair for like the 10th time. I started using Transcend StoreJet series when I lived in Cambodia about 10 years ago. Not trusting the merchandize quality that was available in the Cambodian market at that time (no regulation/no quality check -> dumping ground for sub-par products), I made a point of purchasing a good chunk of famous brands in the US when I traveled back. I was starting on a rather large documentary film project. I bought the usual suspects. WD, Seagate, Toshiba, etc. They all would had slow start, stuttering and some failure. Out of utter frustration and reluctantly through a recommendation of a local filmmaker friend, I picked up my first pair of Transcend. I never looked back since. They always came to life fast. Never failed to read. I have purchased 16 or so of them (all in pairs due to my back up needs). None has yet to fail or yet to fail to start, or even stutter. The track record I experience is impeccable and ridiculous, compared to other established brands. I am a filmmaker and do massive photography for exhibits sometimes. Transcend StoreJet is the only brand I fully trust. I recently picked up a pair of Seagate 2T USB drives. They feel finicky. Not failed yet but let's see if they can begin to re-establish my trust on other brands. Because Transcend came in and delivered quality when I felt most vulnerable, I remain grateful to this brand.

With my ever growing family of devices, I needed a new external hard drive with a decent capacity. I searched through the available options figuring I'd probably go for a Western Digital, but I saw this Transcend model which was about the same cost as standard devices but was built tougher. In a household with several young children, military drop tested hard drives are a major plus. I'd owned plenty of Transcend media products in the past, but never a hard drive. I have to say that I'm extremely happy with the drive. All the devices I'm using it with have USB 3.0 ports so the higher access speeds (vs USB 2.0) are noticeable. I didn't benchmark it personally, so I don't have any raw stats to report but speed was not a major concern of mine. I've used this drive with windows 7, windows 10, and Android devices. In every case it was quickly detected and performed as expected. It has a useful and unobtrusive LED indicator. I mostly use it with my Nvidia Shield Android TV and have not had a single issue with it. I'd definitely purchase one of these again the next time the need arises.

Last week I received, and fell in love with, the Transcend 1 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive - Military Drop Standards (TS1TSJ25M3) . So I decided to order another Transcend drive that I can alternate with the first for backing up files, and I ordered this drive. It arrived today, and I'm as pleased with it as I am with the other one. As always for me, it's important that a product not only work with Linux but work WELL with Linux. This drive does, straight out of the box. (Note: I did format it as ext3 using gParted before using it because its original FAT32 file system would lose case sensitivity on file names, and that's not acceptable for this 30-year UNIX/Linux person. Aside from that, it works out of the box.) As I noted in my review for the other drive, there is some software included on it, but it's only for Mac and windows. However, that's not an issue for me as I wouldn't use it anyway; I like managing my backups myself. If you're a Linux user and you're going to reformat the drive, you might want to follow its warranty web page first. I really like how easy Transcend has made it to register your products, activate their warranties, and see visual proof on their web site regarding your warranties' start and end dates. Nice. This is a great product for its price.

I purchased this hard drive so I can get my information to and from work. I am walking about storing all sorts of documents, pictures and worksheets. I will say I am super impressed with this hard drive. Not only does it look and feel great, but it works great. It is really fast to upload my documents and very easy to sort and organize all of the files. Opening the documents on both PC and Mac has been really simple. I am loving this hardrive. I have had a really easy time transporting my work. I love how I can be effeciant with such a simple device. I can start working one computer and finish up on the next. The best part, this can hold 1 TB of information and is drop proof. Great for teachers.

This is a little disappointing. Bought the Transcend 4TB USB 3.1 Gen 1 StoreJet 25H3B SJ25H3B Rugged External Hard Drive TS4TSJ25H3B so that I could pull some files off I don't always use on my two computers but don't want to delete. First, specifics: The drive is small, lightweight, fits in your hand well. I could put this in my purse or pocket and I doubt very much the extra weight of this would kill me. The drive is actually a little less than 4 TB (3.93 TB) because they put a driver/program that you must first install on your computer on there, but it's negligible and was expected. I did install that program on both my computers, but it failed to work on either one. So the "one touch backup" is more like you back up the files manually, cutting & pasting like you would with any other portable thumb or stick drive. I would have liked that back up feature, but the real reason I bought this wasn't for that but for the 4 TB space and also for the advertised 3-tiered shock protection. I'd bought a WD Elements portable drive some time back and after a simple 2 foot drop from a table to a carpeted floor, it went kaput - along with all my files. I'm hoping if similar events occur, this might offer better protection. I'm not returning it because I can still manage to get the files off the computers. I was able to remove 1.5 TB from one computer and I'm quite happy with that. It didn't take forever to do, either, and that's a huge plus. To be honest, I expected it to take hours & hours and it didn't. I would buy it again, remove the program that doesn't do what it's supposed to & go from there. For the space you get & the shock protection, I really am hoping this works well that way. I do reserve the right to amend this review should anything change in the future. For now, it is what it is and it appears to be working just fine, even if I can't do the "one touch" backup.

This is my 2nd purchase of this brand - Transcend. Not only did it come in my favorite color, but these hard drives are so reliable, durable and affordable. Well worth the money!

So much smaller than my previous external hard drive. The size and fact that it lies flat, makes it more secure and will last longer. My last external hard drive was vertical and once I accidentally knocked it over, that was it!

I will tell you right off from the beginning that I bought this product for a friend, so I can only tell you the very little I know about it. It appears to be a solid product as it has a rubber coating all over it and usually, when you buy a protective case for your smart phone for example, the good ones are made of rubber. I am not rough with my electronic equipment nore am I negligent with them either, so I don't need such robust protection for my drives, I prefer a more elegant looking unit, it does not have to be so tough looking. That being said, I personally would not get one of these as my first option, unless I require a drive that I know will be subjected to over average rough handling or abuse. My friend loves these drives, likes their protective coating and as he says, "if it survives my hands or rough handling, it's a solid harddrive." So there you have it, a review from the word of two people in one. One last comment, there are no complaints about under average data transfers or problems of that kind. So I think it is a good buy if you are thinking of purchasing this drive.

Un producto con materiales de gran calidad, fiable, de fácil conexión y con muy buena velocidad de transmisión. El único "pero" que se le podría poner (siendo muy rebuscado ya) es que el tamaño es un poquito voluminoso. aunque es muy aceptable por toda la protección externa de caucho que lleva. Quizás esperaba que con el paso del tiempo, este tipo de aparatos y tecnología redujeran el tamaño algo más...Muy recomendable y una fantástica relación calidad/precio.

Compré este disco duro por la necesidad imperiosa de formatear el ordenador del trabajo y por tanto de hacer copia de seguridad de algunos archivos. La marca es conocida, y fiable, y el disco duro tiene una capacidad más que suficiente para mi, además de un precio muy asequible. Y la verdad es que estoy encantada. FUnciona muy bien, el ordenador lo reconoció enseguida, la velocidad de copia, normalita (los hay más rápidos, pero también he usado algunos muchísimo más lentos). El disco es muy sólido, está recubierto de silicona, lo que hace que se agarre bien a la superficie, no se desliza en absoluto. Se ve resistente y robusto. El color es original,no el clásico negro. Es de los mejores que tengo (y tengo seis, de las marcas iomega y toshiba, de distintas capacidades). Cada uno tiene sus pros y sus contras, pero desde luego y sin género de duda: cuando necesite otro disco duro, volveré a comprar este. EDITO- Lo compré el 1 de septiembre de 2014, estamos a 25 de noviembre de 2020 y sigue funcionando sin problemas.
