You need to program it for ALL frequencies.

Can you use your car standard antenna

Of course not! A standard AM/FM car antenna is for receiving only and is not compatible with the frequencies that this radio tunes! (Are you an amateur radio operator? If you were you wouldn't be asking that question). You need to use an antenna that is tuned to whatever frequency you're using! I suspect you're a "business band" user. There are many mobile antennas on the market that you can use that will be compatible with the frequencies this radio transmits on. but you need to use a specialized antenna for whatever frequency you're using. I don't recommend trying to install this radio and antenna yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, you can blow it up! Merely attaching anything that's called an antenna, is not how it works!
