Frankford Arsenal Stainless Steel Media Pins, for Brass Cleaning and Ammo Reloading

Bought this at the same time as my first wet tumbler. Has become indispensable for cleaning up the stainless steel pins after emptying the brass out of the tumbler.

I have to say, for the way I use this, it is a great tool for picking up the 304 stainless pins that come with the Frankford Platinum Tumbler. The pins are easy to lose while working with them and when they fall on a dark surface and are hard to see, if you simply run the magnet across the surface, you can hear the pins being picked up. Transferring the pins from one place to another is really easy with this tool. The added bonus is that they will also pick up steel casings when you are trying to separate them from the brass ones. I don't know how they would work on other manufacturer's stainless pins, but if they are made similarly, they should be just fine.

It's strong and works well, great toy for my 4 year old grandson.

Second one of these and this time I added improvements to avoid same issues as with my first… Why a manufacturer does NOT seal a bottom plate, so a WET media does not introduce moisture/cleaning solution on the inside of the unit???!??? One would think that a few cents shrink wrap sealed around outside would not be that difficult or expensive… Well, here you go - seal between cylinder body and a pickup base plate. Silicone, putty, epoxy and/or, as I did - hot glue gun. I opted to wrap with a decent tape for a good measure. This mod is “a must” for me. 2nd suggestion- there could be a stronger magnet placed, likely 1.5x of what is in there now - no way I can lift advertised amount of pins right out of the box. I knew this going into it a second time, but if manufacturer is reading these - here you go. BRAND NEW pickup tool/magnet will NOT lift pictured/advertised amount of standard 0.047x0.255 premium stainless pins… In closing, even with its faults- it is still better than other two brands I have tried. Obviously, This is a non-paid honest review.

FUNCTIONS FLAWLESSLY. Much cheaper than local supplier.

Have been using for about six months. Must have for steel pin use in wet cleaning. Work for both removing from. Separator, as well as pickup of any that are dropped or spill.

Just tried it today on my tumbling media steel pins and a variety of other objects. Everything worked as described. The only complain I have is the handle. Sometimes it does not pull up smoothly. A thin layer of grease fixed it.

This functioned like it should - but you have to know how it works and what it is supose to do!
