8VSB is the modulation method used for broadcast in the ATSC digital television standard. The MINIMOD-2 is easily switched between CABLE QAM and ATSC modes from the front panel controller...thus making it ideal for use with either Off-the-Air or Cable TV QAM signals. Although we haven't tried it on this model Roku Stick, the general rule is that the MiniMod2 will work almost universally on any device that supports a regular 1080p HDMI signal.
