I paid $249. CAD, considerably lower than the usual listed price of $329. All of these low cost budget speakers go on sale every now and then; I waited 3 months. The main thing to keep in mind when ordering this sub is you have to match it with the appropriate main speakers; in my case the matching Kanto YUP6's (5 1/4") And, have a realistic expectation of what a sub in this price range can do. In the case of the YUP6's, this sub can easily over power the top, so it should be able to mate well with any comparable 2/way. The Kanto sub 8 packs a punch and fills the bottom giving the whole system the size and image of a full stereo. It does not extend to ultra low subsonics, but has enough bottom end to match the expectations of a good small to medium sized home stereo. Again, have realistic expectations. The sound is tight, punchy and possess ample bottom end for it's intended purpose. I am quite happy with it and that's coming from someone who owns $16K worth of REL sub woofers.

This is a perfect subwoofer for my Edifier QR65 speakers in my small office room. I mainly listen to classical music and Kanto SUB8 adds great low frequency without blasting my walls. It's easy to connect and adjust volume and crossover. I really love it. Now my listening pleasure is complete.

Great with Kanto yu6 speakers

I've had a pair of Kanto YU6s for a few years. I use them for music and general audio from my PC and audio from my Xbox. They sound pretty good but as many small speakers aren't able to reproduce the lows with much oomph particularly when placement is limited to the side of a monitor on a desk. I decided it was time to add some low end. The three primary goals were to have good sound obviously, take up minimal space, and be relatively inexpensive. That's a difficult set of parameters for a subwoofer. There are many options that are small but they either sound bad or are expensive. I read the reviews for this sub and it seemed to meet all my parameters. As others have noted this is not a home theater super low frequency response sub. It'll add bass for effects, just not at the level or depth of a home theater sub. This is more of a musical sub. It adds a lot to the sound. Music is fuller. Voices have more body. I play Call of Duty and it really enhanced the impact of the game. I have no complaints.

Fijne aanvulling op mijn Kanto Ren speakers. Geeft een onvervormde en strakke bas, zonder onbestemd gebrom. Ook de goede timing is prettig vooral bij het afspelen van muziek. Zeer goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.
