how do i know what size to get?

The better the puncher the smaller you want the bag to build speed and accuracy, ive got the smallest and hit it everyday, miester is the best I've ever come across. Good luck Dan

How much do I inflate for a medium bag?

The instructions say only 4psi. 4psi isn't enough so go up to 8 to 9psi do not pass 9psi or it will explode. It should be perfect at 8psi but it depends on the size of the bag as large I put 9psi.

What is the advantage of this shape compared to Everlast round shape?

It's just a different shape that precedes the Everlast round shape. This is a better made bag. The leather is nice. But check the loop mine was crooked. This is really a top notch bag even when compared with title leather bags. I do prefer this shape.
