処理が早いです。値段が今より上がっていくのでしょうか？

MacOS環境でThunderbolt（USB-C）端子に挿しっぱなしで半年以上使っていますが、動作は非常に安定していて大満足です。多少の発熱はありますが、無視できるレベルかと思います。（とはいえ夏の暑い日は静音ファンを回して放熱しています） スループットも早く、信頼感が高く、長時間の接続にも安心して使える製品です。

Thunderbolt 5 対応でMAC内蔵SSDと同じぐらいの速度で使えるということで購入 実際に5000MB/s以上の数値を確認しました（本体の温度が過剰に上がると下がることもあるそうです） After Effectを使用していますが問題なく使用できています。 かなりの負荷をかけると本体は熱くなります。

動作しないので返品したが、返金が4ヶ月後だった。

Mac mini(M4 Pro)とThunderbolt 5接続してWriteもReadも5000MB/sを超える爆速でした。Final Cut Proの編集用として使い始めてとても快適でしたが1週間後に突然アンマウントされ、その後は認識しなくなりました。本体のLEDは点灯しMac側からはThunderbolt5機器としては認識されていましたが、その先のストレージとしては認識されない状態です。 他のマシンに付け替えても同様なので返品しました。 なお容量は3.84TBでした。

Like all OWC products well made, fully meets specifications - this is a very fast drive . Only observation of a reservation is that the supplied cable is permanently attached to drive so you cannot user replace that I can see...I don't want to pull too hard to prove it is attached permanently - would purchase this unit again and I have a number of OWC products that have all performed well

When it comes to external SSDs this 4TB solid unit from OWC is blisteringly quick. I am currently using this on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro laptop which has Thunderbolt 4, however I bought this to be future compatible when I upgrade to a Thunderbolt 5 machine. On my laptop connected directly to a Thunderbolt 4 port I’m getting on average read speeds of over 3037MB/s and write speeds of around 3023 MB/s. I have no doubt it will hit much higher speeds on Thunderbolt 5 and I’m not noticing any significant drop in performance after several continuous GB of data throughput. I’m using APFS format. The drive gets quite warm in use (around 40 degrees C) but the finned extruded metal case does a great job of dissipating the heat. The drive is quite weighty having a solid aluminium finned case. It’s roughly the same thickness as the laptop and has a rather short (about 23cm) captive Thunderbolt cable attached which is non removable. Other than a small blue LED on the front underside that shows operation the design is quite simple and plain. At the time of writing this review the price of this has rocketed in the last month by about 50%. I paid around £600 for which I think is reasonable given the performance and capacity of this drive. At this time I am not aware of a faster external SSD drive.

I have had very good luck with OWC products over the years (Blue Ray, Drive Bays, cables, etc.) and I am very happy with the build quality (billet aluminum) and performance of this drive. I went with 1TB option in my 2025 Mac Studio 16 core M4 Max because Apples price for the internal SSD upgrade was steep and I don’t want all my storage in one place. This drive was a bargain in comparison and is so fast I cannot perceive the difference is actual performance between them. That said, my heaviest disk usage is from Photoshop. I have this connected to the TB5 Port of my new Anker TB Prime dock which is connected one of my Mac’s TB5 port.
