This is heavy solid steel. Not your junky kind. Functionally it works great. No wiggle and rattling. Fits great

I was thrilled when I opened the box, as this shackle hitch seemed made of such high quality, strong materials. I felt it would be robust and dependable under heavy loads. I used it to connect a quad bike to a dump cart with a cotter-pin style hitch for heavy gardening work on property, moving supplies and soil. Fast forward 2 months, and the shackle spontaneously disassembled itself after backing up the trailer less than a foot to make a tight turn, then driving forward. I didn't think I needed safety chains on my dump cart! And here is the design flaw - the screw-in bolt has no extra thread to add a nut on the other side, and way to secure it from loosening over time. So now every time I stop I have to check the tightness of the shackle bolt! We're going to try plumber's tape, but that is a cloogy workaround. Disappointed after such a positive first impression.

Have not used it yet, winter is coming though, but this looks tough. Clevis is much larger and stronger than ag clevis I've used in the past. Still have actually but this one puts to shame. Have actually bought 2 of these. One for me and another for my sister. Her's, I bought with a red clevis so she will be less likely to lose it in the snow. Mines white but I know I'm not going to lose it. Not sure sister will get to use hers, but I know from experience that people with 4x4 trucks get called to pull others out.

I purchased this item for vehicle recovery efforts both mine and others. Had the opportunity to use the other day to pull someone stuck in the sand. Easy to use, pratical and most importantly, it worked well.

Good quality. I put some lock tite on the threads. Don't want to lose it.
