The color was true to the picture, and it wasn’t overly heavy although it looked like it should’ve been! I used it as a Mother’s Day gift for my mom and it was well worth the money. I worried that it would be too big for my project as I’d only ever worked with 12x12s and this was actually so much better sized for the shadow boxes I like to make! I make shadow box gifts often and I will definitely be saving this one to reorder when needed! I will say, as far as lighting it, I used a LED strip and I think in this box it would probably be more beneficial to use fairy lights instead so that the lighting isn’t all in your face.
