Will these clean and take the smell out of a carpet that has spilt coffee on it? The milk has turned sour

I am not sure about the sour milk smell, but it must make a difference and if using on coffee I would dilute with some cold water first and using a thick cloth or lots of kitchen towels, lay them on top and tread on it to help soak up then use Vanish as directed.
