Highwings 4K@60Hz USB C to HDMI Cable 1.8M, [Thunderbolt 3/4 Compatible] Type-C to HDMI Cord for iPhone 16/15 Series, MacBook Pro/Air, iPad, Surface Review: Works great for MacBook to monitor connections - Works great, used for connecting a MacBook to a thrifted but high quality monitor Review: Very reliable 4K@60Hz alternative to a hub or HDMI dongle, but not compatible with most USB-C hubs - I purchased this so that I could setup my 2021 MacBook Pro to the left of my external monitor. Plugging in an HDMI is only possible on the right side of the 2021 MBP. This solution worked well -- my monitor popped up as it would normally do with an HDMI-to-HDMI cable. I don't notice any latency issues with the connection. It's a reliable connection and a sturdy cable. I get 60 Hz operation at 4K, as expected (see attached screenshot of my "Displays" settings from macOS). That said, if you are planning to use it with a USB-C hub, keep in mind that most pure USB-C hubs will not support a USB-C-to-HDMI cable. Some do, but many don't. With that in mind, I purchased an Afterplug Dual USB‑C Extender (as shown in the attached image) to couple this cable with the cable from my USB-C hub. This makes for a large, two-pronged plug that makes it a little quicker to dock my laptop when I arrive at my desk.

The Perfect Fix for My Monitor Problem
I wanted to connect a second monitor to my Mac mini and thought I needed a dock of some kind, but found that I was able to connect it with this particular cable…… and it works like a champ. The quality is as good as any other cable, I’m sure, but it’s doing exactly what I wanted and didn’t cost a fortune, which is a win.
