Eat these to remind you that you’re alive despite feeling dead inside.
These are solid pieces of licorice/salmiak candy, if you get down with licorice and are sick like the rest of us! I take these to the office and toss one in my gullet a couple of times a week. The pungent aroma and strong flavor remind me I’m alive when I feel more and more dead inside. These Danish apparently know something about what it takes to avoid a plunge into dark nihilism. Turns out it’s a delicious licorice candy.

Gotta like STRONG licorice!!!!
EXACTLY like the licorice sticks with ammonia salt in the middle. These too have ammonia salt powder in the middle. Not do these being back childhood memories from when i was in Danmarkin the 60's. I have always been on the look out, now I've found it. I just had to order 3 more bags .

Very good, but very expensive.
I have to admit that this candy might be the best candy I've ever had before. It is really good. I thought that I was getting a large bag or many small bags, not just one small bag for $12. However, it is imported from some other country, Denmark or Germany or something so I guess we are paying for that too. I'm not sure if I will buy this again but it was nice to try it.

Amazing Salmiak Flavor
So good tasting - it almost tastes like there's a little black pepper in it, maybe I'm mistaken - but it's so expensive for such a small bag!

Unique taste
This candy is flavored with a salty liquorice. It has a very strong and specific flavor. People not familiar with it might find the taste physically overwhelming and unlikeable. But those who like it, it is a culinary feast. I use it for making the Scandinavian liquor, called Salmiakkikossu or Salmari.

Crushed, strong ammonia flavor
So I love Salmiak, but most of my experience is with pastilles. These are a hard candy. They are super fragile, so many of the ones in the bag were crushed and many were stuck together and broke when I tried to pull them apart. Flavor wise, they are not particularly strong in the locorice flavor/spice. Most of the pastilles I eat are far stronger. What is strong about them is the ammonia flavor! None of my pastilles have a noticeable ammonia flavor, but it's all I can taste on these.

Good but not great
The flavor is not as strong as the original Finnish ones. A good option if you want something a little less potent. I prefer the really robust flavor of the Finnish ones best.
