The shelf you see above the bed is 68" long x 10" deep x 4" thick. It is one heavy and solid piece of wood. The way I mount these is to remove the sheetrock behind the support so that each one is directly attached to the stud. If you leave the sheetrock with a shelf this heavy, the sheetrock will compress on the bottom and cause it to lean in a matter of weeks. I also mount these so that the holes are lined up vertically and not horizontal. NEVER use the sheetrock anchors supplied nor use the drywall screws supplied. Use a quality wood screw! You are just asking for trouble if you mount it that way. Other than those precautions this is a quality product and yields great results.

Very well made brackets but you can forget about using their drywall anchors. There are 2 drill holes on each bracket. I made sure to have one hit a stud. I used my own anchors and still didn't feel like they were doing much. The other was there mostly to keep it level. After mounting I slid a penny behind the bottom of each anchor to level the shelves out. I was very happy with the results.

These are great for shallow floating shelves. They are sturdy and and easy to use. By purchasing individual brakets like this you can customize the spacing and placement of the brackets to suit your needs. I recommend getting a longer drill bit to drill the holes in your shelf/wood-- or do what I wound up doing: either use a router or chisel to carve out space for the plate to recess into the back of your shelf. This eliminates the need for a longer drill bit and helps ensure the shelf sits flush against the wall. My only complaint is that they don't come with a small screw to secure from underneath to lock the brackets-- without them your shelf can pull off the wall if someone pulled on it.

Very happy with. However plan ahead for drilling perfect vertical holes with the right drill bit size that can drill deep enough. Mounted easily to wall. I did upgrade to longer screws which I already had on hand.

3 of them took the weight load of a 3” thick 9”x 72” teak piece of Lumber that weighed about 70lbs with no problem. To get exact measurements of the holes u need to drill into your shelf, easiest way is to mount your brackets on walls, place shelf on top and pick your location and mark It up. Easy as 1,2,3!

The configuration of the wall attachment panel is such that only one screw/bolt can be attached to a stud leaving the bracket less secure than it ideally should be. Also, the included plastic wall board anchors aren't sturdy enough to hold the rated weight of the actual bracket. I turned the brackets vertical and recessed them into the drywall in order to attain a solid and flush installation on studs.
