Are the buffers suitable to shine nails? Or only file?

These only work well to file your nails.

It is made of some kind of plastic with an abrasive covering which is the same on all 4 sides. It is firm to use. It is not very abrasive so I only use for rough edges on the ends of my nails,

Are these heavy duty? Will they smooth out uneven, thick nails?

I use them for dip nail removal and shaping, and they work well!
