Creative Deco Large Yellow Wooden Box Storage with Hinged Lid

I bought this to house a microscope when not in use. I tricked it out to not only fit the microscope but also the accessories. I put on a handle for picking up and carrying. I attached latches to prevent unintended opening. I stained it chestnut. I didn’t finish it as well as I could have if I spent more time but it’s not a piece of furniture, cabinet, door or molding so it is good enough for me.

Husband and i used these to put on top of our oversized bedside tables to replace having drawers. These look so nice and sleek. Very great quality and put together well.

I wanted to gift the Harry Potter hardback book collection I slowly gathered to give to my daughter for Christmas this year. I ordered the natural wood box with the intention of decorating the box myself. The box itself is a little expensive for the quality considering it has a particle board bottom, rough edges, and was cracked. I fixed the crack with wood glue and sanded the edges. I stained with oil based stain in walnut, added a clasp, added felt on the bottom inside, and stenciled her name on the top of the lid and a little quote on the inside of the lid. I kept the original hinges and colored the fabric strap holding the lid up. Everyone couldn’t believe I decorated it myself. And my daughter loved the box and of course the gifts inside. So it worked out really well.

This is one of the worst false advertisements I've been swindled into buying by the false advertising of photos and description.... This description should read: CHEAP PAINTED [NOT STAINED] PARTICLE WOOD BOX WITH BROKEN CARDBOARD BOTTOM ALSO TWO STAPLES THROUGH RIBBON TO LOOK LIKE A HINGE. My box arrived double boxed that was in perfect condition so I. know it was packed this way. These sellers should be ashamed!!

cheaply made, the hinge was broken when I opened the box. I had to replace the hinge with a piano hinge.

Arrived broken. The lid was detached from the box. Upon inspection the lid hinges don’t use screws to fasten them to the box or lid. Instead, the flimsy hinges are “spiked” and simply pushed into the wood. This is an incredibly poor design, one that will allow the hinges to detach with very little use. The wood is not smooth and will be a dust collector that doesn’t clean easily. Finally, the “brown” color isn’t really brown at all…more like a dark redwood with a reddish tint. I’m returning the box and looking for something else. It’s definitely NOT work the $99.00 price tag. :(

Box is cracked along the bottom edge. Cracks where one hinge is driven in along the grain to the other hinge. Poor quality wood, very roughly finished. The hinges are the ones that have sharp flanges that are driven into the wood like nails, not screwed on. the loose grained wood splits easily as show in the attached photo's. I will be looking elsewhere for a adequate box.

I liked the size, however would have preferred a chain to hold the cover instead of a ribbon, and a more sturdy box, as well as better hinges. I added engraved brass nameplates (purchased 3) for each box to give to my granddaughters to keep memorabilia. They do not have a locking feature which I didn’t require. I was glad to find this size box as many were just too small.

For $200.00, this product is not even worth looking at (it is rubbish) A 1-star rating is far too good. This product is so poorly made that you need to be careful about splinters. Not painted properly; my 5-year-old can do a better job painting. Also, incorrect measurements advertised, so could not use as intended. I am very disappointed that AMAZON even allows this product to be sold
