I bought this for my mom. She has moderate hearing loss. She could not carry a one-on-one conversation with anyone. My dad would have to speak real loudly and convey messages to her. With the Flaygo hearing aid, the improvement was quite significant. She could now carry a one-on-one conversation very well without any help. The device was not perfect when she was not paying attention. If she was busy in the kitchen and we started speaking to her, she wouldn’t hear us but if we got her attention first and then spoke to her she would hear us better. The device is simple to use for the elderly. She said that it felt comfortable in the ears. Also, she was happy that there was no echoing sound (unlike her previous aids). The one thing my mom didn’t like was that this was a device that was inserted in the canal. She was worried it would fall off. She preferred the behind the ear aids. I think for the price it is a very decent option. It’s easy to use and works well in one-on-one settings.

I changed this review down to 1 star from 3. A friend bought these same hearing aids and has the same problem with the squeal, plus they fall out of her ears periodically, even with the correct ear piece. She also told me this company offered her cash back as an incentive to write a good review. They have a tinny sound and start out very low volume, I tried turning them up, didn't seem to notice much difference. I really don't like that you have to get them in fast or they make an extremely loud high pitched squeal right into the ear. You get 15 seconds when you take them out of the case, but if you take them out of your ear and try to put them right back in, they make you deaf from the squeal. I had it happen a couple times while trying to get the fit right. I have expensive hearing aids from the audiologist, but I wanted these to see if they would be ok for emergency use in case I lost mine. I also wanted to see if my husband would like to try them. After he heard the loud squeal that hit me a couple times he wasn't interested in trying them on.

The bottom line is, you do not know what you cannot hear until you do. I purchased these as an attempt to improve my hearing. In the past I just looked at my grandchildren and nodded when they spoke. They spoke so softly and it was tiring to keep asking them to repeat themselves. I had purchased another brand about one year ago and after struggling with them for about three months, I just put them in a drawer. l later learned those we just sound amplifiers, not a hearing aid. These Flaygo Rechargeable Hearing Aids for Seniors are amazing! I put them in and could hear sounds I had not heard in years. I am still in the learning mode, but the overall sound and hearing aid quality is amazing. I have been able to wear them all day and into the night without the batteries wearing out and the charging case works great for overnight charging. The aids are easy to adjust and do not fall out. I only have two questions: What are the recommended hearing aid dome replacements? Now that I can hear, how do I get my wife to stop yelling at me as she has had to do over the years. UPDATE: The right hearing aid has stopped working. It appears the issue is it will not charge. I have contacted Flaygo but have not heard back. It appears the only way to contact them is through their website message board. I will further update when I hear back from them.

I bought this for my dad who refused to wear any hearing aid. He liked the fact that they are very discreet, easy to accommodate in the ears and has the color to differentiate right from left. He noticed an improvement in his hearing, that’s obvious when watching tv. Charging time is fast. His only complain is about the volume setting: adjusting the levels is not easy and that’s why we took two stars as it’s an important feature of the device.

After purchasing two different, very expensive, sets of hearing aids from different companies, I was extremely disappointed with the other two brands. I decided to purchase these hearing aids from the reviews and I am thoroughly happy that I did. These hearing aids are everything I wanted and needed. I can hear sounds that I haven't heard in years, voices are clear, and I am not tired at the end of the day from the stress, strain, and frustration of trying to understand what people are saying and asking them to repeat. I highly advise following the directions starting with the lowest level first and staying with the first day of adjustments. I am so glad I did! The hearing aids have a long battery life, are very light, are inexpensive, fit well, work extremely well, are comfortable, and are barely noticeable. What a positive difference these hearing aids have made in my life!

Love that I can hear again. What I don’t love is I can’t wear it at church as it interferes when their microphone and music amplify. It gives a noise i don’t like. It’s amazing how there were a lot of noises I didn’t hear and I now can. But also a lot I wish I didn’t. Like my husbands loud breathing. He’s sick and it amplifies his cough and throat clearing. The thing that bugs me the most is after about an hour of wearing my ear starts draining and itching really bad. I’m assuming it’s the rubber ends as ear buds do the same thing to me. One more negative is they also slide out of my ears a lot when I’m up and moving around. So I’m always worrying that I’m going to lose one.

I am more than a little pleased with this product. I have fought hearing loss since I was about 6-years old, when I had the measles (before there ever was a vaccine). I had priced them recently through my audiologist's office and was horrified at the price. Fortunately these came available on Amazon. I decided I had nothing to lose. These hearing aids are great and I do recommend them highly. I took them out of the box, charged them, and did a quick read through of the instructions. A few minutes later I popped them into my ears and they worked exactly as I hoped they would. Easy, Peasy! A set-up of just a minute or two and that was it. I did have to change the ear pieces because I have very narrow ear canals but that was quick and easy. I've had no problems with whistling and volume control is a simple as a discreet click of a button. They feel well-made and durable. As I said I'm pleased with this purchase and I would buy them again, as well as recommend them to anyone. And yes, my review was requested but I didn't say anything that I wouldn't have said regardless. It's a good product!

Purchased these Flaygo hearing aids for less than $100 with a coupon. My first venture into hearing aids – I was not ready to commit to spending $500-$5000 without first trying an alternative. The aids come with 8 different sizes of silicone earplugs. The enclosed spec sheet says they boost hearing in the 400hz to 3,000hz frequency range with an average of 5% distortion. This may be significant to some. The aids operate at four volume levels, easily changed by the push of a button. Background noise is alleged to be minimized using “intelligent” noise reduction. The hearing aids are quite comfortable to wear due to their small size. They are truly almost invisible. But I was not able to find earplugs that eliminated the squealing or whistling noises at all volume levels. Level 4 (volume) produced the most noise, although this level was too high to be useful for me. Level 2 (volume) proved adequate. My mild to moderate hearing loss is between the 400hz and 8,000hz frequency range (the range for human speech). The aids were most useful when watching TV. I was able to turn down the TV volume, but some dialog remained incomprehensible due to the devices only boosting the lowest frequencies. In a crowded restaurant, the aids boosted the voices at the table, but they also boosted the surrounding noise rendering them useless. Worn outdoors, the aids boosted certain low frequency sounds (like my neighbor’s pool filter), but not much else. In my opinion, these hearing aids appear to be “amplifiers” and don’t qualify as “hearing aids”. People with mild hearing loss in the lowest frequencies will find these aids useful for watching TV. They are small and comfortable to wear. As a true hearing aid they leave a lot to be desired. I will be returning these for a refund.
