SSK 8TB Portable SSD External Solid State Hard Drive USB3.2 Gen2x2 20Gbps

I love this product so far. I just received it today, so I will come back and update if anything changes. It's aul hard drive. I bought it for my MacBook Air, which has only 8GB of RAM. I need to run a Virtual Practicum app for my Forensic Nursing Practicum. First off, it fits in the palm of your hand and comes with two thick C-type connection cables. I installed and launched my very large practicum app with no issues. Also, I was able to run the app for 2 hours (the 1st full assessment) without issue. Other reviewers stated it gets a little hot, which is my only complaint. However, it did not affect performance, and it cooled down within seconds once I ejected it. I absolutely love it. I decided on 2TB of storage. I cleared my entire desktop of the 12+ PowerPoint presentations, plus the hundreds of papers and discussion posts I wanted to save from my MSN Forensic Nursing program. Next, I will attach it to my iPhone 17 and transfer the photos from my phone to it. I wish I had purchased this much sooner. I am looking for a small case for it. It would be nice if the company could create one or even bundle a compatible case for it. Definitely buy this one. It's super small and super fast (plug-and-play).

Really happy with this little SSD. It’s small and compact, so it’s easy to carry around and doesn’t take up any space in my bag. The speed is excellent — transfers are quick and smooth whether I’m using it with my laptop or phone. It does get a little warm if you’re using it extensively, but that’s to be expected with something this size and performance level. Overall, it’s reliable, lightweight, and works exactly as advertised. Definitely a solid buy if you need fast, portable storage.

Now is probably a terrible time to be writing a review since I've only had it for a week. It's supposed to be twice as fast as the WD ssd devices I already had and it probably is but it can only be as fast as the the drive that the data is being transferred to or from. Keeping that limitation in mind it's a great little unit and with the Lenovo laptop I used it on it has performed flawlessly.

I’m was not pleased with this in any way other than it is small. For my purposes, I purchased this because I teach an exercise class and was toying with the idea of posting my videos. Posting a full class versus shorts/reels is apparently a huge difference in terms of size. Granted I’m completely new to learning about any of this. I can tell you I have an iPhone 17 and wanted an external drive to stop using my phone’s memory. All of that took on a life of its own because it doesn’t end once you record the video. You have to then try to compress the video and then hopefully get it to upload/transfer to wherever you want it to land. That was very time consuming and many of the videos I recorded on this drive were glitchy or couldn’t compress or did weird things after compression. I think I only got 4-5 videos on this drive before the memory was full. So for someone like me who teaches 2-3 classes/week that really not a shortage option and took a huge amount of time trying to get the videos in other forums. I did speak with the seller through Amazon. Seller was helpful at first - then not so helpful. At any rate, this was a waste of money for me and I would love to return it but missed the window. I can’t recommend this drive for larger videos especially if you are looking to store large quantities of videos.

I needed something cheap (especially now) in order to supplement my drive on my Macs, and this was a good buy, small, super light weight, I had no problems with compatibility on my Mac no issues with installation, getting it configured, and I tested its performance by switching over my 1 TB external drive (with no storage left) over to this one that has 2 TB and no problems there! I see some of the reviews regarding it getting “heat” but it does get warm but it doesn’t get too hot and it doesn’t stay that way, it does cool down, that’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars but overall its good

I have been quite pleased with this external hard drive. I have a new Mac Pro, and this device is simply plug and play, with no problem whatsoever. I was able to backup up my computer very quickly; the device is quiet; and I have had no problems with it overheating. I highly recommend it. For the price, I’m not sure you can beat it.

Small and fits in the palm of your hand. Comes with a USB c to usb c cable , as well as a USB c to USB cabel. Its plug and play and transfers are fast. No problems so far.

Its as advertised. It’s small form factor. The read write speed is very good but its of no use to me as my system is not that fast I’m happy with the product
