NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER! The blockbuster danmei/Boys' Love novels from China that inspired the animated series! This epic historical fantasy about a prince and the mysterious man by his side is now in English, for the very first time. Born the crown prince of a prosperous kingdom, Xie Lian was renowned for his beauty, strength, and purity. His years of dedicated study and noble deeds allowed him to ascend to godhood. But those who rise may also fall, and fall he does--cast from the heavens and banished to the world below. Eight hundred years after his mortal life, Xie Lian has ascended to godhood for the third time, angering most of the gods in the process. To repay his debts, he is sent to the Mortal Realm to hunt down violent ghosts and troublemaking spirits who prey on the living. Along his travels, he meets the fascinating and brilliant San Lang, a young man with whom he feels an instant connection. Yet San Lang is clearly more than he appears... What mysteries lie behind that carefree smile? This Chinese xianxia fantasy novel series built around the romanticized love between two men (danmei) is the newest work from author Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, and has spawned an ongoing multimedia franchise that's beloved across the world--including the animated series (donghua) that amassed 100+ million views in just its first month. The Seven Seas English-language edition will include covers from 日出的小太陽 (tai3_3), and exclusive, all-new interior illustrations from ZeldaCW. Review: Beautiful story and amazing quality book! - There's honestly no need for me to review the story, it's amazing and you'll be hooked by the prologue. But quality-wise, the book itself is beautiful, mine came with no scratches or tears, and overall I'm very satisfied. I've read other reviews saying their copy came in damaged, but there was no problem with mine, so maybe the issue has been resolved. My only complaint is that I had preordered this item was back in October, and it was still late by one month. This is probably an issue with the distributer, but I would take the shipping date with a grain of salt. Review: Thnaks - I can't wait to read.

You won't regret picking this one up
This series is absolutely fantastic - I've finished up to book 7 and am eagerly anticipating book 8. Unlike a lot of BL stories I've read the author of this series goes out of her way to craft a full realized story with stellar lore, world building and character development that elevates it above the rest. Details that seem insignificant in one book become major plot elements several books later, characters you think you know turn out to have hidden sides to them that were hinted at the whole time, mysteries slowly unfold across the story that kept me glued. Even more than that, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are just genuinely likable characters, their relationship is the glue that holds this whole story together and it was absolutely fantastic watching it develop as details of their past is revealed slowly book after book. The cherry in top is a cast that is truly well developed and enjoyable. Even characters you start off disliking grow over time and almost no character is left without time to grow and develop. Special shout out to my boy Qi Rong, I absolutely hated this character at first and by the end he became one of my favorites. Pick this series up! You won't regret it.
