Safariland nailed it with this one
Absolutely perfect fit for my Shield Plus. This is a quality holster offering either paddle mounted or belt slot OWB carry. Active retention is a must for me, not the friction retention of some holsters, and not a gimmicky button you have to fumble for with your index finger. With little practice, you will find it second nature to unlock the pistol using a natural grasping motion. You do not want to be fumbling for an index finger button in a highly stressful, life or death scenario. Well done Safariland.

Outside Waistband, Concealable
Purchased this for my M&P Shield. I've tried inside waist band holsters and they just aren't comfortable. This particular model, outside waistband, is perfect. It fits snug against the waist. I don't think this is available for larger pistols, but it is perfect for anyone who wants to carry a Shield, have it be concealable wearing a jacket or shirt. This holster has a secure locking mechanism, that is thumb operated. It is economically the best I've seen as you simply move your thumb over the lock release when you are removing the weapon from the holster.

Great carry and secure
I like the 737 series even better than the 600 series holster. Super light weight but very rugged. This set up with the belt mount is ideal for a retention holster you can actually conceal well with an untucked shirt. It pull is tight to you body and does not hang down too low for nosey people to see. Completely recommend the Safariland 737 als holster.

Great OWB holster
Fits my gen1 Shield 9mm perfectly. I intentionally bought this model knowing I was gonna take off the tiny paddle and put on a Safariland belt slide. I did try it out with the paddle just to see but it’s so small it doesn’t do a good job of limiting movement of the gun. Would work much better with the large Safariland paddle if paddles are your thing. Yes paddles are convenient bc of the quick on and off but I much prefer the comfort and stability of a belt slide.

Tight fit!
Got this for my Performance Center shield 1.0 and it fits nice and snug! I even have a silencerco barrel with the thread protector on it and it fits in the hole perfectly. I highly recommend these holsters.

Awesome holster at a decent price.
As usual, the safariland brand upholds it’s reputation. This is an awesome holster that keeps my weapon from shifting while keeping it secure. I live these style holsters and highly recommend it.

Bad micro-paddle: Get the 7378 instead
I already have a Safariland 6378 for my full-size M&P that I wear more often than any other holster, so I assumed that the 7371 would be the same, but with a smaller paddle befitting the Shield's smaller overall size. I was wrong. The micro-paddle on the 7371 allows the holster to rock back-and-forth an unsettling amount on the waistband, even with a solid gun belt in between. Worse still, I was able to quite easily pull my holstered pistol straight up and out of my waistband, which defeats the purpose of using a retention holster (and should not even be possible with Safariland's paddle design).Fortunately, the holster itself works magnificently well. The ALS retention catch is very easy to learn and use for the wearer while providing good snatch resistance. The holster's overall fit and finish are excellent; my Shield fits snugly with no rattle or play. The injection-molded SafariSeven material used by Safariland in their 7xxx series holsters compares quite favorably to the STX material used in their 6xxx series. It adds virtually no bulk to the holster body but feels just as solidly durable, despite the material change.Micro-paddle aside, this holster works extraordinarily well. So I decided against returning the 7371 and ordered a full-size Safariland paddle to attempt a retrofit. Once the full-size paddle was installed, the difference was night and day. NOW my holstered pistol would stay in place on my waistband, wouldn't come loose when tugged upward, and didn't change the ride height or concealability. Perfection.BOTTOM LINE: If you're considering the Safariland 7371 holster and don't have a very specific need for a small paddle, save yourself some time, aggravation, and $10: just buy the 7378 instead. You'll likely be much happier that way.
