I spread this non-perennial seed hold together some soil that I did not want to wash away in the winter. It came up in maybe 5 days and it's holding everything together. I realized it's going to die in spring, but that's okay by then of the grass I'll take over

Had some outside work done in early December with walkway and front porch, yard in area was torn up by equipment used. Ordered the Winter Rye to throw on the now bare and torn up lawn-the rye is now about an inch high, and should continue through MId Spring, at which time, i plan to resod area adjacent to new walkway and porch. The stuff was not cheap, but it does work, and if you have lawn torn up in late Fall or early Winter, the Winter Rye is the best for getting the ground covered and for holding the soil from washing away. Another use is for helping replenish your garden's nutrients by planting rye in Fall and then plowing or hoeing it all in before planting garden the next year. Last, this Winter Rye seed was high quality, i have used Winter several other times, and this was the best quality rye i have ever bought.

I tilled and spread this winter rye grass. I spread clover the same day, and grass seed on my lawn. The weather has been perfect 60-70 every day, we have gotten rain nearly daily. The clover and lawn grass is growing. The winter rye has done nothing after 8 days. I suspect these seeds were DOA. This was a bad batch of seeds.

5 lbs was enough for me to cover 400 sq feet easily. Id imagine 500 sq ft would still be easy with the 5 LB bag. I planted this for my 14x28 Garden over the winter, and it was easy to spread, I mulched over them with Grass, pine needles, and leaves. I just mowed all that up together, and spread it over the seeds. its been a little rainy and between 40 and 70 degrees. This picture is on Day 5, I'll be getting these again next season.

This grass seed started growing in about 2 days and was about 4 in tall in about a week and a half but I wouldn't buy it again because only half of the seeds sprouted. I bought it to grow in a greenhouse so that my chickens can have grass in the winter. It was kind of expensive for it all not to grow.

These seeds produced some serious grass! I had a couple of holes filled and wanted some grass to cover, but it wasn’t warm enough for typical grass. So I sprinkled quite a few seeds on the bare areas. When the first ones germinated, it didn’t seem like much, so I did it again. No raking or mulching. It took a few more days, but I have very thick green grass on those spots!
