Amazing espresso machine
I was looking for an espresso machine that was easy to use, easy to clean, and that made great coffee. I purchased this on prime day and I am extremely satisfied. It met my three criteria and then some! First, this has to be the simplest to use espresso machine on the market. You put the beans in, fill the water tank, and it pretty much does the rest. When it's done you just empty the puck (into the trash or into a bucket to save for your garden, but not into the sink!), rinse it out, wipe the machine down, and you're ready for the next one. It also makes delicious espresso...which of course is highly dependent on the beans you use. I've brought this to work multiple times to make espressos or lattes for my team and they loved it. The portability was a feature I wasn't necessarily targeting when I bought it, but the smaller size allows for easy transport. It also holds sufficient water to allow for many cups without refilling. This is definitely worth the purchase and it has come through for me over and over again. It functions exactly as expected and helped expose me to a whole new way of enjoying coffee. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a smaller espresso maker that doesn't want to break the bank.

Would not dispense water and then leaked from underneath
I bought the combo Philips Barista Express & Milk Frather during Amazon's July Black Friday sale for my husbands 75th birthday in August. He loves his coffee and an expresso machine would make him happy. The return policy was 30 days and if I surprised him with it on his birthday, I would be over the 30 day return date. So I gave it to him early. He was excited and set it up. Not much to this machine, really easy which is why I bought the Barista. Well, beans were ground but no water would dispense. The water would then leak out of the bottom of the unit. We tried over and over, looked up You Tube videos, checked Philips website and nothing. So I was very glad that I gave it to him early. It was returned. Now I have to either buy it again at a higher price or go with another machine. This one just seemed so easy to use. Amazon did not give me an option to return with replacement.

Easy and Good Espresso
If youโre looking for a good cup of espresso coffee, this is a great and easy way to brew. The grinder works well and based on your settings, it automatically places the correct amount of coffee in holder. No need to tamp down before. Coffee and water settings can be changed from the factory settings. Just buy the freshest darkest beans that you can find.

Easy Espresso, But still Good Espresso
When I first saw the Baristina, I was a bit skeptical. We were about to move to a new house and I wanted a replacement for the espresso machine that I received as a wedding gift 20+ years ago and happened upon an ad for this machine on, I believe, Twitter. Anyway, I have been shocked at the quality of the espresso this machine produces. I'm a tiny bit of a coffee snob - not even remotely as particular as some people that measure every drop of water and every coffee ground, have lab-quality equipment with bunson burners, beakers, centrifuges, and the like to make a cup of coffe in the morning (who has time for that?) - but I DO appreciate a well-made cup of coffee. I feel this is the perfect balance between ease of use and quality of espresso. Using the machine is ridiculously simple. Fill the water tank with water, fill the coffee bin with whole bean coffee, select a brew (espresso or lungo), whether to "intensify" that brew, and slide the handle to the right. Then wait a few minutes and you have espresso (or lungo). I find I like the flavor of the espresso slightly more than the lungo, but I tend toward the lungo because it produces more coffee per pull. Empty and rinse out the portafilter, replace it in the machine, and you're ready for another cup. Easy peasy. Cleaning the machine is pretty simple. I purchased some coffee pot cleaning tablets, dissolved them in water, and ran cycles according to the instructions. The machine tells you when it's time to clean. My ONLY complaint about the device is that I've had it for about six months and the handle hangs going from the grind to the brew stage of the brewing process on a regular basis. This started about a month and a half ago. I'm not sure how to fix it, but it's a minor inconvenience at this point. Otherwise, I'm impressed by this coffee maker. It has replaced my Cuisinary 12 cup grind-and-brew for 99% of my coffee making. And it's infinitely better than any K-Cup-based coffee maker I've ever used.

broke after 6 month and replacement machine broke after a week.
Do not buy this product. I purchased in 01/2026 and it stopped working in June. Contacted the product support (under warranty) and they sent me brand new machine. New replacement machine worked for 1 week and it broke again. Contacted amazon hoping to get refund but since it's outside of return window, they told me to just deal with the philips directly. Save yourself the hassle of talking to vaarious customer support and do not make this purchase. It's total junk. Update 07/22/2026- I contacted the Philips customer support again and addressed the problem with replacement machine and after 2 days of no reply, I received email that they will issue full refund. Again, do not buy this product.

Good espresso machine
Easy to use. It will save your time to make the coffee. You can choose to make an espresso or a lungo. The user manual can be downloaded from their website. Be sure to clean before the first use and after each use. It may not be as good as a thousand-dollar machine, but with this price, it is good enough.

Actual piece of junk. Great when it works, about 25% of the time.. portafilter gets stuck all the time. Finally tossed in trash after 6 months
