Just My Luck: A King Family Special Edition

I have been curious about Abel King since we first heard about him in the Sullivans' stories and I was so impatient to read his own story! And unsurprisingly, he has immediately become my Outtatowner main male character! Beneath the hard exterior and the troubled past, there is the biggest heart and a world of internalised pain. It's no wonder it took adorable twins and a feisty, sassy strong ray of sunshine to see past his walls and into his heart! Sloane is one of those strong and yet human and very relatable female lead that you can't help falling in love with! Oh and Bax! Sweet old Bax! And Bug! And Duke, Sylvie, Lee, Whip, Emily! Being the third book into the Kings and with all information from the Sullivans', the overarching storyline is now more intense and definitely coming to a head. Russell King is... Yeah he's a definite villain and I can't wait to see him fall, despite his timely machinations in this book! I've loved the little hints at Royal's coming story (because, yes of course Royal is next on my interest list!) and how they indicate that things will be turning a corner in his book!

We’re heading back to Outtatowner, Michigan and I for one think it is the perfect time for a visit to one of my favourite lakeside destinations. 𝓗𝓮 𝔀𝓪𝓽𝓬𝓱𝓮𝓼 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓼𝓶𝓲𝓵𝓮𝓼 Firstly, Lena - I am mad at you for making me cry! I always knew there was more to Abel King than meets the eye but I wasn’t prepare to spend my Sunday night sobbing over him and his precious heart. 𝓘 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓪𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽 𝔂𝓸𝓾. 𝓨𝓸𝓾'𝓻𝓮 𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓮. 𝓜𝔂 𝓦𝓲𝓯𝓮. Abel King, what are you going to do with you. You may be a giant grump but you have a heart of gold and didn’t deserve to be treated the way that you have. Watching Sloane get under your skin was so hilarious joyful and I am so happy you got to find the light in your darkness. Plus seeing how you interacted with the Twins (swooned!!) 𝓘 𝓪𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵 𝓼𝓪𝓯𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝔂𝓸𝓾 These two had such chemistry and watching them try and fight the attraction that was very clearly present was such a joy to see unfold. Lena really knows how to bring you into a the characters storyline and take you for a ride. It was so fun to see the different twists and turns as more of the King Family mystery is uncovered and I cannot wait to see what is happens next. Lena is really trying hard to make you switch sides from #TeamSullivan to #TeamKing and I think she might be winning! 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽 𝓭𝓮𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓵𝓲𝓯𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝔂𝓸𝓾. 𝓘 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽. 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽. I devoured this book and enjoyed every single minute of it! The connection between the main characters was such a beautiful part of this story.

Sloane knows what it feels like to experience the worst sides of love and the idea of going down that road again is something she's not ready for at all. But desperate times call for desperate measures and right now her boss needs a little help and so does she... and she's got the perfect idea to solve all their problems. Or at least she hopes so... Just My Luck is a story healing, resilience, family, conquering demons, and finding love. When we meet our heroine she has just went through a devastating and life altering divorce, moved her family across the country for a second chance at life and it's been one rough road for them all, one that she wouldn't wish on anyone. But this road has taken her to a place that may just be the answer to all of her prayers... provided she just hasn't made the mistake of a lifetime by offering up her hand in marriage to her boss. He needs money to buy out his father's stake in the family business and she needs her inheritance to provide a more stable life for her children and ailing grandfather. But in order to access that inheritance she must be married, so comes the faux marriage for the sake of business. Or is it just for the sake business? This was my venture into this series and I have to say it left quite a good first impression, so much so, that I am planning to make a return visit and read the installments that I have missed out on. I loved the characters so much, they welcomed me in and made me feel right at home. I also loved the small town vibes, the air of mystery lingering between the pages, and the glimpses into the other characters lives... I cannot wait to see where their stories lead us next! Highly recommend this one, Abel and Sloan have one heck of a story to tell, one that'll keep you enthralled from start to finish!

Oh gosh, the Kings are just getting amazing as the series moves up. I mean hello Abel King!! If you have read the Sullivan family series you know, you just gotta not like the kings i mean come on they were just mean and spiteful. But how wrong were we proven. First with Whip and now with Abel. The oldest of the king siblings and the most broody and who has a perpetual RBF. And who is the one who shakes him to the core, none other than his employee Sloane Robinson. Sloane Robinson who is this eternal sunshine and just a happy person to be around , has not had life easily of late and in a turn off things enters a marriage of convenience with our grumpy. Who is a single mom to the cutest set of twin kids! My heart is all out for these sweethearts Ben and Tillie! This couple has that quiet love from one side and the chatter and spunky force from the other. And together they fit so perfectly. And I'm falling more and more in love with the king family. Of course minus that one you know who. Gah I loved everything about this book and can't wait for more!!
