This was so easy to put in and have had no issues with this.

I’m sure this is fine for a regular 7D, I don’t know how it compares. But do be warned it will not fit the mark II. I should’ve paid closer attention when ordering and didn’t think to try it when it arrived since I was just ordering it to have on hand when I decided to try without my battery grip. I noticed a few people had said this was pretty much impossible to remove without breaking once you got it in and realized it didn’t quite fit, HOWEVER if you look at the second picture, on the inside of the cover there is a little switch with an arrow. Push this in the direction of the arrow and the half of the pin that creates the “hinge” that is on a spring will pull back for easy placement and removal

This one actually fits a Canon 7D, unlike the others that claim too.

Did not fit my Canon 7D.
