Works Seamlessly With Roku TV and Roku Remote
This Ultimea 5.1 Poseidon M60 sound bar, with its small wired subwoofer, is surprisingly effective. For our spare bedroom, the 55" Roku TV works great. But its rear-firing speaker is somewhat muffled, particularly with dialog. And, of course, no deep bass. I want an integrated front-firing audio system that turns on seamlessly with the TV, and is controlled by the Roku TV's standard remote. Setup: The sound bar comes in two pieces. You twist-lock the two halves together to create a unitary 31" long by 2-3/4" high front-firing bar with multiple tweeters in it. (Small brackets and screws are included if you want to hang the bar on the wall. Mine is sitting under the TV on top of a bureau.) Includes an HDMI cable. Attach the HDMI cable to the HDMI socket on the sound bar, then to the E-ARC HDMI input (ARC= Audio Return Channel) on the Roku TV. Attach the subwoofer to the sound bar via its RCA plug and ~2-meter cable -- no separate subwoofer power is needed. Plug the wall wart for the sound bar into the wall outlet for AC power. Done. The sound bar now turns on when you turn on the TV. The Roku remote now controls volume and mute. You might want to go into the Roku TV's Settings under Audio, but honestly, the Roku recognized the sound bar and the sound bar recognized the TV and its remote immediately. Amazing. The M60 comes with its own remote that needs two AAA batteries (not included) but you can also download the ULTIMEA app for your phone, that wirelessly controls various EQ settings. I didn't even put batteries into the Sound Bar's remote. And once it's set the way you want, there's no need to fiddle with it. I stored the Poseidon's remote away. No more multiple remotes! I experimented with positioning the down-firing, ported subwoofer, which usually is most effective firing toward a corner of the room. At first I put it up high behind the TV, but then placed it on a carpeted floor and thought it would not work that well, but it adds a ton of bass. To be honest, this little sound bar and its subwoofer are not nearly has precise as a dedicated Sony 7.1 amp, 7 separate high quality speakers and a powered dedicated subwoofer. But come on -- the sound bar is $170 versus thousands for a home theater setup. For that money, in a spare bedroom, the Poseidon M60 is more than sufficient. It actually does a pretty decent job of throwing surround sound, considering the surround speakers are in the front and bounce the rear channels off the walls. You want to spend more, go ahead, but this sound bar added the dialog clarity and the thumping subwoofer that really upgraded a bedroom TV. It set up and integrated easily and is controlled by the Roku remote. It turns itself on and off with the TV. It's simple and intuitive to operate, so guests can watch TV if they want. I tested it watching streaming HDR multi-channel movies like Jumanji (great subwoofer test with the drums) and Fifth Element, which has an interesting, complex sound track, and also streaming TV shows. Best part is the dialog is much clearer. The sub adds depth. Is the Poseidon M60 a sophisticated, precise surround sound experience? No. But it does fill the bedroom with clear vocals and a sorta full frequency sound track. It sets up easily and fast, has all kinds of EQ adjustment if you're into that, various presets that actually sound different, and enough power to fill the room. After its first day, I am initially very pleased.

Excellent product! Highly Recommended!
INITIAL REVIEW: Excellent! The Sound Bar is very easy to setup. When I first opened the box and realized how tiny the soundbar and subwoofer were, as someone who already has two elaborate Bose Home Theater Systems, I was skeptical whether it would produce any good sound. I was wrong! Although this cannot be compared to my high-end Bose systems, this little fella packs quite a few big sounds punches. I needed this for my bedroom flat TV where I do not need anything as heavy as my high-end Bose systems, and this soundbar works perfect with just the right amounts of punches and clarity. I love it! I highly recommend this soundbar. UPDATED REVIEW (04-13-2026): I initially gave this Sound Bar five stars after setting up the first one I purchased. Since then, I purchased two additional sets, then I noticed a major problem. The Optical port does not work in any of the three sets. Also, the Bluetooth does not work in two of the three sets. Very disappointing. I returned one set. Therefore, I am changing my review from five stars to only two stars. SECOND UPDATED REVIEW (May 08, 2026): I purchased three Poseidon M60s Soundbars, but I returned one of them. Then I received an email from the manufacturer (seller) with heartfelt apologies and an offer for an upgrade. They sent me the upgraded Skywave F40. This Skywave F40 that I recently receive is a kind and unexpected replacement from the manufacturer (seller? for one of the two remaining Poseidon M60s (lower soundbar tier than the Skywave) that I purchased. I initially was not expecting this upgrade, but the manufacturer reached out to me and offered me an upgraded system. However, that does not, and should not, affect my review here. Although the Poseidon M60s are great (easy to use and have great sound, but I had a little issue with the Optical port); this Skywave replacement is a lot more advanced with more impressive features. For examples, it has forward-firing speakers, side-firing speakers, up-firing speakers, and two surround rear speakers (automatically paired and synched wirelessly). Moreover, the soundbar and sub-woofer of this Skywave are a lot more stylish and streamlined, with gold accents, and it fits any décor – whether hidden off sight or placed in open view. I have been using two separate BOSE 535 III Serries Home Theater system, which are outstanding. However, the Poseidon M60 and Skywave F40 almost rival the Bose systems I have in terms of sound clarity and the Skywave F40’s surround; and at a fraction of the costs of the Bose systems. In fact, the little fellas carry some nice punches and give the Bose systems a run for their money. For example, when watching a movie with the Skywave F40, and you see a vehicle or train coming from the northwest (front-left) of your big screen heading towards the southeast (rear-right); you can literally hear the sound coming from the front left side of the room, coming towards you, passing you by, and vanishing through the rear right side of the room behind you. That’s exactly what my BOSE systems do, they cost me thousands of dollars more. My conclusion: Both the Poseidon M60 and Skywave soundbars are simply marvelous; with the Skywave F40 also having the Bose edge. I can confidently say that both the Poseidon M60 and Skywave F40 deserve FIVE FULL STARS, especially at their price points.

Great for the price point, a welcome upgrade
I purchased this to replace a soundbar that was well reviewed but I found underwhelming, so it was with nervous concern that I unboxed it. The construction is actually in three pieces, with the bar components locking together with a twist that created a secure join. The third piece, of course, is the passive subwoofer that connects with a coaxial RCA style terminated cable. The materials have a quality feel to them, but not premium. The two mounting points were similar to the unit I removed for a painless installation, and the included screws and mounting (plastic) brackets seem like they would do fine. The unit connection options are solid, and have used three of them. The USB was a trial run before I mounted the bar under the television panel, and it worked well and sounded much better than the previous soundbar. I also tried the optical connection and that was also good. But the connection I'm using is an ARC based HDMI port that works extremely well with this soundbar setup. Here's how I set it up: I plugged it in. That's it, given that I was previously using a soundbar with ARC it dropped right in to the bracket I had previously installed, and immediately gave me better sound than I'd been dealing with. To test, I watched an F1 race and it was highly intelligible and easy to understand the commentators. Overall the audio was good, not perfect, but I'm used to studio monitors and have an ear for audio. For the price point I am delighted with the quality of audio, and the sub provides enough oomph for general movie, video game, and internet sources. The sub will not give you sound like a theater, and the bar won't fool anyone either, but this is many times less expensive than the premium systems. I think this would be a great soundbar for use in apartments, condos, and other multi-family living arrangements because you can enjoy a movie without getting a knock on your door because of the boom boom from the sub. How you find this will depend on what your expectations are, certainly, but audio, in general, has a much higher bar than it did 40, 30, or even 20 years ago. I'm pleased with this purchase. 5/5 stars, would buy again.

Subwoofer does require cable connection to sound bar
First, the bad: The subwoofer does require connection to the sound bar via wire. Other models of this product do not. Though, if you have a wall port to run wires behind the wall up to the TV, this is a non-issue. The good: The sound is really pretty good. With the support of Dolby and Atmos, I was hearing effects that I initially thought were coming from something going on outside my house. Be warned, with you first connect this, the volume is at 50 ... which caused my cat to flee the room. I run it at about 12 ~ 15 regularly and this is loud enough for an otherwise quite midsized room. The volume adjustments was smooth and even with the audio increasing/decreasing at predictable steady intervals. One of the reasons I replaced my old sound bar was because it did not allow the setting I wanted the audio at ... there was a setting where the audio was just a little too low, but the next setting up ... the audio was just a little too loud. For some reason, at that point in the volume, there was a greater leap in the interval. This is not a problem with the Ultimea. The wired subwoofer is also not overdone. Which is good because it doesn't appear to be adjustable either. It creates a nice rumble during bassy bits that do not have you looking down at the speaker. It is enough to add to the sound profile, but not too much where you're thinking "wow! Bass!" It is tuned very well to the application. Speaking of application, there is a phone app you can download that gives you the ability to finer tune the sound bar EQ. There are some other functions. I was hoping to find some subwoofer tuning options, but alas ... no. Overall, especially for the money, this is an excellent sound bar that will add to the audio experience of your viewing if you're using the TV speakers or an older sound bar. Controls are simply with remote or topside buttons, and setup is easy by plugging the included HDMI cable into the (e)ARC port of your TV and the corresponding port of the sound bar. The TV then can control the on/off and volume without having to switch remotes. I docked a star for the subwoofer being wired and not being adjustable (not that it necessarily needs adjusting, but I like options).

5 Stars: Ultimea Poseidon Soundbar System – My Living Room Just Leveled Up to Blockbuster Status!
I jumped on this Ultimea Poseidon 5.1 setup (soundbar + that thunderous subwoofer) thinking it would be a simple TV speaker fix. What I got instead was a hilarious plot twist: affordable audio that makes my old flat-screen sound like it was whispering secrets through a paper cup. This thing doesn't just improve things—it hijacks movie night and turns it into an event. If this review scores me a shot at a premium soundbar giveaway, I'll know the universe agrees it's a steal. Setup So Easy, It Feels Like Cheating: Out of the box, it was basically "connect one cable, power on, done." HDMI eARC hooked up in under a minute with zero tech tantrums—my TV recognized it instantly, and Atmos kicked in like it had been waiting for the invitation. Wireless parts paired flawlessly, no endless button-pressing rituals or app downloads required. I had booming surround sound before the pizza delivery even arrived. Instructions were straightforward, everything felt intuitive, and I didn't need to Google a single troubleshooting tip. Perfect for anyone who wants cinema vibes without the setup headache. Sound That Actually Delivers the Drama: The audio quality blew past my expectations and straight into "how is this real?" territory. That dedicated subwoofer delivers rich, rumbling bass that makes action scenes feel visceral—explosions land with satisfying weight, but it never overwhelms the rest. Voices cut through crystal clear during tense dialogues, mids stay warm and natural, and the highs add sparkle without any annoying edge. The surround effect creates this wide, enveloping bubble where sounds dance around the room—rain feels like it's pattering overhead, footsteps sneak up from behind. It gets plenty loud for bigger spaces while staying clean and distortion-free, even at higher volumes. Whether it's pulse-pounding thrillers, upbeat music tracks, or casual binge-watching, everything just pops with depth and clarity I never knew my TV was missing. Custom tweaks for bass and surround let me fine-tune on the fly, from subtle nighttime mode to full immersion overload. Quality Build That Feels Premium on a Budget: Sleek, compact design that doesn't hog space or scream "gadget." Solid construction with no flimsy parts or vibrations, reliable performance day after day, and thoughtful details like low-latency sync that keeps everything seamless. It punches way above its price tag in both power and polish—definitely built for real-life enjoyment, not just showroom dazzle. Bottom line: This Ultimea Poseidon transformed my everyday viewing into something cinematic and fun without draining my wallet. It's witty proof that you don't need big-brand bucks for big sound. If you're on the fence, hop off and treat yourself—you'll be grinning at the first explosion. Easily one of my smartest upgrades yet. Five stars, and counting! 🎬🔊

Great value.
I’ve had the Ultimea Poseidon M60 Boom soundbar hooked up in my setup for a few weeks now, put it through its paces with action movies, gaming, and casual TV watching, and I’m ready to drop my honest take. If you’re trying to upgrade your TV’s built-in speakers without spending half a paycheck on a massive surround system, this thing punches way above its weight class. But like any budget audio gear, there are a few trade-offs you should know before buying. What Works Well Impression-Making Bass: For a 5.25-inch subwoofer, this thing gives movie night a serious upgrade. The down-firing design gives explosions, gunfire, and heavy film scores a satisfying, punchy weight without sounding muddy. 5-Driver Soundbar Setup: Instead of relying strictly on digital tricks like most budget bars, the M60 packs five distinct full-range drivers—including side-firing speakers. It creates a surprisingly wide soundstage for Dolby Atmos content without needing rear satellite speakers clogging up the room. Dialogue Doesn't Get Drowned: Action movies love to blast background noise over speech, but the VoiceMX feature keeps vocal frequencies isolated. You won't have to keep riding the volume button just to hear what characters are whispering. Granular EQ Control: The companion app offers a full 10-band graphic EQ, which gives you plenty of room to tweak the bass, midrange, and treble to fit your room's acoustics. The Drawbacks Vague Sound Modes in the App: While the app gives you plenty of sound presets and EQ options, it doesn't do a great job of explaining what any of its different sound modes actually do. There's minimal context provided, so you’re left toggling through options by ear to figure out which setting is best for movies versus music or dialogue. Over-Processed Out-of-the-Box: Straight out of the box, the heavy DSP (digital signal processing) can make simple audio—like the evening news, podcasts, or YouTube videos—sound a bit artificially boosted. You will need to jump into the app on day one to manually dial things in for everyday viewing. Wired Subwoofer: The subwoofer connects to the main bar with an actual cable rather than being wireless. Depending on your living room layout, hiding that wire can be a bit of a headache. No Physical Rear Surround: While the side-firing drivers project audio nicely around the room, virtual surround sound can only do so much. If you're expecting sound to hit you directly from behind your head like physical surround speakers, you'll still notice a difference. If you made it this far, congratulations. As I said above, I think it’s a pretty great soundbar for what you’re paying. My only real major issue is the app, it needs to be more clear I think. And it also should connect faster. However if you know what you’re doing you can get great value here.

Easy to set up, great sound, and a real bargain
My wife and I are seniors who sometimes have trouble hearing the dialogue while watching TV shows and movies. Some years ago we bought a device that boosted the dialogue as promised, but at the expense of the rest of the sound tracks. Music, especially was muted, which really dampened our enjoyment of movie musicals. Finally, it was apparent that we were ready for newer technology. Prior to making a purchase I read dozens of reviews, watched quite a few Youtube videos, and even used ChatGPT for advice and side by side comparisons of multiple products. After all that, factoring in our budget as well as the features, I settled on the Ultimea 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Bar with Subwoofer. It had so much more than I expected, and the price didn't bust the bank. Even for this old guy, assembly and setup were easy. I just put together the two speakers, plugged the subwoofer into it, plugged the HDMI cable into the ARC port of my television, plugged in the power pack, and I was ready to go. We have an older Sony Bravia television, and I did need to tweak a few settings in the AV area before I got any sound. That only took a minute to locate and adjust. Then I picked a movie online that had both songs and a lot of dialogue to really see if this sound bar could deliver what I was looking for. I was not disappointed. The dialogue came in crisp and easy to understand, and to be honest, was clearer than our previous sound bar system that was designed primarily to boost dialogue. Other things I liked were the fact that the subwoofer didn't overpower the room. I've had home theater systems and found I had to really turn down the subwoofers because the entire household could feel the bass when it came on. I wanted something a little more subtle, and that's what I got. Now I should mention that the Ultimea sound bar has plenty of power, 300 watts worth, but I don't need all of that, at least not unless I decide to throw a dance party. For watching TV it's perfect. Another thing I like is that it comes with lots of pre-sets, but also an equalizer that you can use to fine tune each preset according to your own tastes. While I was watching the movie to test it, I gave it a little more bass, and boosted the mid-range a little, and it was exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be more pleased. Because of the size of my TV's base, I had to elevate it the TV so the new soundbar didn't block the spot where the TV read the remote's signal. Ironically, I'm using the old dialogue enhancing console as a riser. My TV is on a narrow buffet, so in order to have room for the cables in the back of the ULTIMEA sound bar, I had to set it up a little to the right of the old console. However, that didn't affect the great sound produced by the new sound bar, so I'm happy. I did install the app, and plan on exploring all of the other capabilities of this device, including the Bluetooth. I'm going to play music from my phone, and I know from the documentation, I can pull up a visual equalizer if I want to tweak the sound even more. This may be the best keptt secret on Amazon in terms of getting the most "bang for your buck." It's a steal at a little over $120, considering the quality of the soundbar and subwoofer, and all of the technology packed into it, not to mention how easy it is to set up. I readily give it 5 stars for quality, ease of set up, bargain price, and performance.
