TNP Comfort Hand Grip Case for New Nintendo 3DS XL/LL 2015, Kickstand

Makes 3DS feel a lot more like a proper controller instead of a flat slab with buttons. The grip feels a little hollow, but considering that added weight is a detriment to a handheld, it's not a big issue. What is, is that the plastic quality could be better - this makes the console feel more like a 3rd party GameStop branded controller; I think they could get away with charging more if they'd use a higher quality plastic.The power button is a little harder to reach now, as well. The grip does cover the cartridge port, but I don't use cartridges so it doesn't bother me. It has a similar grip feel to what you would get with using the joy con grip on the switch - the face of the controller is still flat, but it's better than using them without the grip.Overall even if it does make the 3DS look cheap, it's leagues more comfortable now, and Hori isn't making that monster hunter grip anymore ($110+ on the used market) so this is as good as it gets, it seems. At least it's not some gross 3D print off Etsy.

Pros:- The grip is far more comfortable than just holding a N3DSXL. +5- The *right side* of the grip is secure. +1Cons:- The *left side* of the grip is unreliable in securing the device. Poor design choice, especially seeing as that side also blocks the game card. -1- $20 for this grip is pretty silly when modern handheld grips go for about the same and are generally better. Poor value. -1- The kick stand is kind of a joke. If it’s going to be that cheap, don’t include it at all; it’s barely functional and surely not durable. -0.53.5/5 for me. I’ll round up to be nice, but I’m considering whether a better option might exist out there. Haven’t found one yet, though, hence my willingness to leave a 4* review on Amazon~

Is so much easier for holding the DS for longer gaming periods, especially with arthritis is my hands and fingers! I love this DS grip holder! I use something similar for my Nintendo switch. Highly recommend!

This grip was exactly what I needed. It really helps with the slipping and hand cramps I would get from just holding the 3ds on its own. Easy to put on the 3ds and it doesn't add a bunch of extra weight.

This thing is perfect for adult hands (probably kids hands too). For those that put it on and it falls out easily, you probably have the 3DS XL and not the "NEW" 3DS XL. Similar but different models and dimensions. Mine fits perfectly snug, pretty easy to take off. No game slot to switch games but not difficult to get off either. I lightly pull the top middle of the case back from my 3DS to get it off. Very happy with it over the rubber grip I got then returned.

This material is very hard to keep a grip on. It fits perfectly, it stays on nice & tight. But it’s a very slippery type of plastic, like those plastic phone cases, but with a different texture. It is useful in providing extra comfort for extended gaming time, but it’s also worth noting that it does also cover the game card slot.

I wanted to use this for about 2 weeks before writing the review and I got to say it’s pretty solid! It’s not as curved as I would have liked but it definitely adds a lot of thickness to the point where I can’t go back. My hand doesn’t cramp anymore so now I can’t actually play my New 3DS XL for more than 30 minutes!I should mention the stylus, power button, headphone jack, and charger port is still accessible with this!However it does cover the game card slot, so if you’re constantly changing cartridges, I’d look into something else.Also don’t try to pry your system into/out of the grip, it can be frustrating at first but there is a ‘sweet spot’.The plastic doesn’t feel cheap, it actually feels quite decent and feels great even after playing for multiple hours.Do I believe it’s worth $20 though? Absolutely not, a grip like this should be half that price and the only reason I go this was because I couldn’t find a grip for a New 3DS XL anywhere else. I’d suggest getting this if you have the spare money (obviously), or if you REALLY want your 3DS to be more comfortable or if you have larger hands and just can’t take it.

It’s a good little controller grip, does what it’s designed to do. It’s very light weight and fits my new 3ds Xl perfectly. It doesn’t block the stylus at all but the power button can be a little tricky but honestly it doesn’t bother me.

Helps me play games in comfort.
