This is a cat magnet for my girl. It's extremely easy to grow and maintain, which says a lot because I have a brown thumb. The quality is always excellent and consistent. The grass is lush and green, and you don't have to do anything to grow it but add water; the seeds are already planted.

My cats were having a lot of hairballs and the typical medicine didn't seem to be doing much. I heard cat grass helps so I gave it a try. And honestly, it did work. The vomiting stopped.The grass also grows very fast and it's easy to do. Just water and wait a few days.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:this absolutely could not be any easier! I never knew about cat grass, and my indoor cat has only recently started going out on the porch at the age of six years old and I noticed her eating grass each time so I researched it and I learned that there’s actually cat grass that aid in digestion, Offers benefits and is specifically made for a cat rather than any grass that may be unsafe. So I took a chance I ordered this and let me tell you I was shocked and in love immediately when I read the directions that tell me basically you just add water one time and then you set it up in a spot in the light that is not directly in sunlight and then you wait. But I don’t mean you wait a month or even a week in just a few days it literally sprouts up. I noticed when I turn it in different angles some days or I move it to a different spot certain days that it tends to grow better, more evenly and quicker. After a few days, I’ll bring it inside where my cat can get to it and every morning that’s her first place. She goes to from the bed, not her litter box that her food or water straight to the cat grass!I tried to take it and put it back outside during the day to let it get some better light and if I do that, she meows and meows at me until I’ll bring it back in L O L. I ordered another brand because Amazon was out of this and I received a package that had a bunch of little tiny plastic bags with seeds and I needed my own planter which I didn’t have and it was much more involved. I never even went through with it and I just kept checking and checking when this was back in stock of course ordered it right away. Add the water waited a few days after it grill gave it to the cat and now we’re on about the third week and I just ordered another one that I can start over with tomorrow because this one is gonna last only a few more days but at the price it is it’s totally affordable Design:I love that it's made at a price that's great that's super affordable to use and dispose of when I'm ready for the next batch Ease of use:SIMPLE, easy, 1 min setup literally

Years ago, I used to buy bulk wheatgrass seeds & grow wheatgrass myself for juicing & had considered growing on my own again when we adopted our cat. But I got enticed by the convenience of this kit, along with the no-soil convenience as well. I followed their recommendations & directions & our first order worked fine & our cat liked it, so we began a subscription. It all went downhill from there. For the 2nd order, I followed the directions again, the growing spot & conditions were all exactly the same, & it developed a bad layer of mold. I hoped it was a one-time fluke, so for the 3rd order I did it all over again, & the same issue AGAIN. For my 4th order, I used 1/2 of the amount of water that they say, & it still happened. I cancelled our subscription. The issue is the company's. Having grown it before, I'm familiar with the small roothairs that develop that some can mistake for mold- that's NOT what this is, this IS a thick layer of mold. And when you aren't overwatering, this is happening when the company has the mold spores already in their seed supply & then also doesn't bother to properly treat the seeds. This is why some people are getting mold & others are not- it depends on the company's own supply orders & whether those are contaminated by spores or not. If they treated their seeds for the spores with a simple peroxide wash (which is nontoxic!), this would solve the problem. But they clearly do not. They also don't make refunds very easy, you literally have to return the tray with the grass & the only free return optionoffered is in a UPS store, none of the other more convenient Amazon return options, likely because they don't count on people wanting to go through all the trouble & they can keep their profits while baiting in new customers. Please do not let your cat eat grass that has developed mold- it's toxic to them. And do yourself a favor, believe all the other mold complaints & go with a different product.

So easy to use and my cat Mijo loves it! I followed the instructions and had no problems at all. Every morning he goes out on our balcony and eats a little grass. It's stopped him from chomping on plastic. The only thing I've done differently is that I've watered it once since getting it. Some little song birds have been stealing something from the soil, the vermiculite or something? Not the actual seeds or grass it seems, in the process of stealing they dragged the cat grass into the sun and it got a little dry. Adding the water ended up working out well. I'm now growing a second one for him.

This refers to the CatGrass Plus Tub version ordered direct and fulfilled by Amazon. There may be third party shippers selling old/stale product, so if you want to be assured of a good experience, I recommend ordering from Amazon direct and skip the third parties. Note this product review is for the rectangular tray which arrives shrink-wrapped. When opened, the potting mix and seeds are already blended together and are not bagged.This is a self-contained package of a soil-less mix and oat grass seeds. The potting mixture is made up of gel crystals that absorb and hold water and vermiculite, which is a lightweight mineral suitable for hydroponic gardening. The seeds are blended in the mixture. It is critical to follow the instructions carefully. Add only the LUKEWARM water specified on the package directions. Then leave the tray uncovered in a spot where it gets bright light, but not full sun. Within 3-5 days, you will see initial signs of germination. Most failures come from not following these instructions. It takes about a week before the grass is sufficiently established to make available to your cats. If you put it down too early, the cats will yank the grass right out of the tray.I do not add supplementary water until the grass starts to show signs of wilting. The reason for this is that oat grass is very prone to rot and mildew problems in any standing water. Since the tray has no drainage holes, it is extremely easy to overwater. If you want to puncture some small holes in the bottom of the tray and then provide water, just make sure the excess drains away fully to avoid this mildew problem.Oat grass grown indoors has a very short life, no more than three weeks from the time you open the product. The grass will eventually wither and die. If you start new grass every two weeks, your cats will have a fresh supply. I do not bother trimming the grass and usually only add supplementary water once in its lifetime.I prefer this product over the smaller trays that often contain peat moss as a growing medium. It is much harder to get even germination and the tray is so small and lightweight, cats have a tendency to drag it all over the room. This tray is substantial enough to prevent that.

grew ok but my cat wasn't really interested

I opened the sealed plastic packet about 2 weeks after receiving the order and there were LIVE BUGS inside!! This is extremely concerning considering that the package had come from China. There was no writing in English it was all in Chinese. I had to immediately dispose of the package with bugs inside so as not to contaminate our environment.
